- "What? Do you not like it or something?" You asked Karma, who had just been staring at you in your (F/C) kimono.

"No, no, you just look beautiful," he smiled. "I mean, you always do, of course. You know what I'm trying to say."

You couldn't help but laugh a bit. You adored when Karma got all like that, it was his way of showing he truly meant what he was saying from the bottom of his heart.

The festival was pretty packed, you held onto Karma's on to make sure you wouldn't get lost in the crowd.

"So what do you want to do?" He asked.

"Well let's just look around, we don't have to do something right away. We've got all night!"

"I guess you're right."

The two of you walked around, looking at all the food stands, carnival games and live music they had to offer.

"Look, they have a lot of games. Why don't you go try one out?" You suggested.

"Nah, I've learned my lesson with those scams. Not in the mood to give some idiot a basic math rundown again."

"Okay then, buzzkill," you laughed. "I wanna look at the floats then."

"Then lead the way," he replied.

You had managed to find front row seats to the float show. Karma had his arm around your waist while you rested your head on his shoulder.

"See, isn't this fun?" You smiled, looking up at him.

"Yeah, it really is," he kissed your forehead.

The crowd around you got bigger and bigger as more people wanted to enjoy the floats.

"Where the fuck are they?" Kana groaned.

"Are you sure they're even here?" Her friend, Ayaka, asked. "Can't we just enjoy ourselves? Why do we have to be so focused on that (L/N) girl and her boyfriend?"

"Yes I know they're here! I overheard them talking at school about having a date here," she shoved her way through crowd after crowd. "He's got a right to know what (Y/N) is really like."

"Fine, but after you're buying me a shit ton of takoyaki."

"Yeah whatever, just keep looking."

You and Karma had moved to a picnic table where you had a late dinner, you finished up before him.

"I'm gonna head to that washroom over there, okay? I'll be right back," you got up.

"Alright, be quick," he was more focused on his food.

While you left for the washroom, Ayaka and Kana finally found him, alone.

"Ayaka, let's go get that takoyaki of yours, yeah?" Of course Karma had been seated right in front of the popular station. "Remember plan A?" She whispered.

"Plan A.. Oh, oh, yes I remember," she smiled as they lined up. "Hey look, isn't that Akabane from the E-Class?"

His head shot up from hearing his name.

"I think so. Did you hear him and (L/N) started dating? Poor guy," Kana faked a pity.

"Is he that gullible? Every time I've talked to her she's had nothing good to say about him," Ayaka responded.

"I'm telling you she's the worst. She does this stuff all the time with people, she leads them on for her own entertainment," Kana sighed. "I didn't think she'd go as far as pretending to be into Akabane. She seriously has it out for him."

Kana had got Ayaka her snack before the two of them ran off, by the looks on Karma's face, they could tell he could hear everything loud and clear.

'Was that all really true? (Y/N) doesn't like me?' He thought.

"Hey, I'm back! Sorry, the line was insane," you sat next to him. "You haven't finished your food, not hungry?"

"No, I'm full."

"Oh, I see. That's weird, you're always hungry. Well, no big deal, you can always just bring it home," you smiled.

"Yeah, speaking of home, I'd better get going. Not feeling too great."

"Aw, want me to come with you? I can try to make you some soup or something!" You proposed.

"No, it's okay. I can take care of myself. You stay, you've been looking forward to this. I'm sure you've got some friends here somewhere, right?"

"Actually, I'm pretty tired," you lied, you just didn't want to miss out on anything. "Let's get going then, you better be planning out our date for tomorrow."

"Mhm, sure am," he sounded unenthusiastic, you figured it was just because he was feeling unwell.

The walk to the train station was silent, but this time it felt forced.
