Chapter 25 - Imprisoned on a Dalek Ship
Davros is alive? The Daleks are back? The questions burned into the Time Lord's mind.
The Daleks moved closer towards the group in rapid speed, moving their eyestalk occasionally, not saying a single word, which frankly, is quite unlike them. The Doctor had expected to hear the Daleks' iconic catchphrase "Exterminate! Exterminate!"; but it never came.
The robot-looking creatures surrounded them from every corner, trapping them at the centre of the floor in front of Davros's throne. They were forced to kneel down on the ground, treated like prisoners for trial. "Well, well, well." Davros said, smirking as he pressed one of the buttons on the armrests of his throne. It scooted closer towards the group. "Doctor. How... nice to meet you again."
"I can't say the same to you." The Doctor retorted, still kneeling on the ground. Kate glared at the Daleks while Jack grumbled, however he knew that they were trying to figure out a plan. The Daleks had sucked away Jack's shotgun, leaving them weaponless. In the same manner, they were practically defenseless.
Davros chuckled slightly. "It seems you haven't changed in the slightest, Doctor. However, not everything is about you." He said in a scratchy voice. He turned slowly towards Olivia, who was kneeling as well, her head down.
"Olivia Watson. What a beautiful name," Davros said. The mention of her name caught the middle schooler's attention, and she glanced up from the floor. He shrugged weakly. "Shame I have to kill you. But not if you comply. We'll see how it goes."
"Who are you? What do you want?" Olivia gritted her teeth, looking viciously at him.
"Ah, right. Proper introductions hasn't been exchanged yet. I'm Davros, the creator of the Daleks. I suppose Jacky boy over here knows me already. Although... who are you? I believe we haven't met." He glanced at Kate.
"Kate Stewart, head of U.N.I.T.,
you bald-headed doofus." Kate spat in reply."What is U— Oh, you know what, I don't even want to know." Davros said bitterly, then he pressed another button on the armrest of his throne. Three cylinder blueish laser beams circled around Kate, Jack and the Doctor like specialized cages.
Kate was about to touch the prison-like laser beams surrounding her, but Jack warned her not to. "Mere skin contact with the beam can send 50 billion volts shooting up your body in less than a millisecond. Even as an immortal, I wouldn't do so if it's of the utmost importance. And plus, it has a transparent metal-force barriers that will prevent anyone who manages to reach outside the beams." Jake said.
Olivia looked confused, as did the other three. She didn't get surrounded by laser beam cages, and she didn't know whether to be relieved or to be worried. She was the only one out of the four. She looked towards Davros, the silence slowly killing her inside, waiting for him to act or do something unspeakable horrible to her.
Which might sound weird but it wasn't considering the circumstances and that Davros, as clearly shown in the few minutes they've met, was a cruel, heartless robot-like aliens exactly like the Daleks he created.
... Nothing happened.
Olivia opened her previously shut eyes. Davros was grinning somewhat devilishly at her. "I told you. I'm not going to kill you. At least not yet." He said sheepishly. "Oh no. I have much bigger plans with you."
*****
Being chained in shackles and handcuffs while being surrounded by a group of merciless Daleks certainly wasn't the best experience. Especially knowing that they could kill you any moment without a second of hesitation.
