Hunter stared at me weirdly and got up to turn on some music. I hoped he forgot about the weird shit that had just happened. "I'm not a big fan of them." He said as he came back and sat down.

It took me awhile to answer him. I didn't want to be weird again and I didn't want to fuck up another conversation. "You don't like Kiss?" I asked. It seemed like a safe answer.

"Not really, I mean, there's not really like heavy guitar solos." He explained. "Well we can listen to something else if you want." I offered. He nodded and got back up.

He switched what we we're listening to and now Guns N' Roses was playing. "This is good." I said. He nodded. "I really think we'll be done with the project next time."

"Why not just finish it now so we don't have to worry about it or deal with it anymore?" Hunter asked. "Because I don't want to work on it anymore for today."I said.

That was true. I just still really felt weird about what I had said earlier, and it made me not want to work anymore. Hunter and I spent the rest of our time listening to music. None of us said anything. "Eden?" Hunter questioned.

I looked up at him. "Hm?" I asked him. He opened his mouth to say something but then closed it. "What?" I questioned him. He did the exact same thing he just did. "Jesus, Hunter, please talk and communicate." I said, sort of getting sick of what he was doing.

"Did you mean it?" Is all he said. I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. "Did I mean what?" I asked honestly having no idea what he's talking about.

"What you said." He continued. "You're gunna have to be more specific." I answered. He rolled his eyes and leaned forward a little bit.

"Earlier, when I asked what you wanted to do and you got all weird and said you wanted to kiss me..." he explained. My eyes went wide. "Oh...truthfully?" I asked. He nodded and looked at me expectantly. "I don't know...maybe?" I said more as a question.

He didn't say anything after that. He just did that stupid thing with his mouth again where he opened it like he was going to say something then closes it again. Other than that though. We just stared at each other.

Eventually, we both broke eye contact and I looked at my phone, Hunter getting up and walking over to the tank his snake lived in. It was almost 6:00. I got up and put my phone in my back pocket.

"What are you doing?" Hunter asked from where he was. I picked up my book bag from the floor as I turned to looked at him. "Going home. I don't feel like getting into an argument with my parents." I said.

He nodded and walked away from the tank. "I'd offer you a ride, but you'd probably just decline it." Hunter said through a tight lipped smile. I looked at him. "Y'know what?" I said. He titled his head and furrowed his eyebrows. "What?" He asked.

I gave him a teeth less smile. "Fuck it. I'll let you drive me home." I told Hunter.  He nodded and went to grab his keys. "Okay then." He said, not questioning my decision.

After he grabbed his keys, he followed me up the stairs and out of the house. We reached his car and got in.

As Hunter was driving down the road, he turned to look at me for a minute. "Where exactly do you live?" He asked. I then gave him my address. He nodded and continued to focus on the road.

As soon as Hunter pulled up to my house, I unbuckled my seatbelt, got out and grabbed my book bag. "Thanks." I told him genuinely. He nodded. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow." He answered. I nodded and closed the door.

As I walked to the front door of my house, I noticed Hunter didn't leave yet. I didn't think much of it. I opened the door and walked inside, shutting the door behind me.
