Homework

Regulus is walking in front of James as he releases a hum of satisfaction, regulus turns towards him. "What is it?" Regulus says as he looks up at James. "What is what?" James says with a smile repeating regulus' words"what is it your humming for?" He says in a light tone. "It was not humming it was one hum and it's because, I'm with you." James says still smiling his voice adding a deepness to the second part of the sentence that makes regulus fight a smile.

"Oh-" regulus says looking away before he continues walking "that makes more sense." He says with an exhale as he heads straight for the astronomy tower. James is used to this by now, the three months have taught him a lot about Reggie. He knows of regulus being conspicuously silent as he walks. As James does something that makes regulus panic or overthink the tiniest things but James will reassure him because that's what they do, he knows when regulus wants to flee from a conversation even if he doesn't show it, James can tell.

James knows what regulus likes and doesn't like and knows how to calm him when he's upset over something he won't tell anyone but James and pandora. This is why James knows exactly what regulus is about to do and it's also why his heart is beating fast and his shoulders are hanging down as he follows regulus like a helpless puppy.

As regulus climbs up the towers steps he lets his hand drop down towards James without actually looking at him significantly it's one of James favorite gestures, he quickly grabs regulus hand and follows him up the steps as he focuses on his breathing. "Your nervous" regulus says from upfront. "I am not nervous, I am excited." James says with a deep breathe his smile reaching his glasses. "Hm..I am too" regulus says with a slight chuckle that James can hear.

"James?" Regulus asks at the top of the stairs turning around to face him. "Yes darling?" He says "kiss me." Regulus says lightly before James lips are on his, this was there spot, they'd talk,kiss,study, or simply sit down and enjoy each others company when one of them is having a particularly bad day.

James feels a tug on his robe before being pushed towards the wall as regulus deepens the kiss once James back is against the wall. James moves his hands to regulus hair his hands woven into those perfect dark curls. "Have I ever told you how much I love your hair?" James says breathlessly as he pauses the kiss their faces so close together he can feel the smile on regulus lips, "you know I'm gonna cut it soon." He says with a deep breathe "whyy-" James begins before he is cut off with another kiss.

"Because it's getting too long" regulus says before continuing to kiss him with a smile. It goes on like this for a while James saying something and regulus kissing him and reversed pretty soon they are sitting at the ledge of the tower James head on regulus lap looking up at him. "So..was there ever any actual homework or were you just trying to get me here" James says with a smile, he already knows the answer.

Regulus scoffs, "you think I'd let Gryffindors head boy cheat off my homework. Nuh uh." Regulus says as he moves his left hand to James face rubbing his thumb over his forehead
"Hey I just so happen to be your boyfriend and you know I'm a very forgetful person" James says as he takes this time to close his eyes.
"Well then you should remember better, like if you know what day it is." James does but he wants to play dumb.

"Hm? What day is it?" He says keeping his eyes closed. "I mean it's nothing special- just like I figured you'd remember. At least try" regulus says his voice getting deeper. "Well it's not Harry's birthday, and it's not my birthday and it's definitely not your birthday.." James says as he opens his eyes to see a slightly frowning regulus
His eyebrows pulled together in confusion. "I'm kidding, I know it's been three months." James says with a smile as he grabs his book bag leaning up off of regulus lap crossing his legs as he turns towards him.  "It has been the greatest three months I've had with you and harry, and I got you a gift."  James says with a smile as he digs into his bag to find a very poorly wrapped tiny box

Regulus heart stops, it does. It's beating fast and god he's sweating as he meets James eyes.
The box is small and that's what is making him panic. He knew James was serious but he didn't think he'd get that serious and if he asked him he wouldn't know what to do, "that's not tonight reg." James says still smiling. "It's not a ring I promise" he says with a smile "oh okay-" regulus says as he carefully takes the box analyzing it with calculated eyes as he opens it and laughs "I fear we've spent too much time together love."
"What? You don't like it" James says with a laugh. "No, I do but I got you the other half." Regulus says with a smile as he grabs a box from  his robe and holds it out to James.

"How did you?" James says as he opens it and inside the box is a golden chain with half of the sun connected toward the bottom  with a red jewel inside it. as it clicks, "the jeweler said it was a two piece set but someone had already bought the other half- it was you!" James says as he takes off his glasses with a smile.
"I didn't think I should've gotten a gift for you and get one for myself so I just got the half for you-" regulus says with a smile "I wouldn't have mind but I'm glad you didn't because I'm definitely going to tell people about this." James says as he put the chain on before helping regulus put on the matching silver chain with a star which had green diamonds embedded inside its curve. 

"You're too good to me" regulus says, "am I too good to you or am I just giving you the love you deserve." James says as he places his head against regulus' "i don't think I'm that deserving of it." He says with a sigh "trust me, you are Reggie." He says kissing Reggie's nose before kissing his cheeks and forehead and finally his lips. Regulus didn't want to be anywhere else.
