Regulus could not believe how well this year at hogwarts has been. He's been dating james for 3 months. Of course that came with baggage like hiding from Sirius, being late to classes, running from administrators at night, being with Harry which is honestly terrifying yet still one of the things he enjoys to do, what he doesn't like to do is keep things a secret it makes him feel fake and it crawls through his insides when he can't tell pandora something, like if he doesn't tell something to her she'll hate him for life and never speak to him again. He's written a lot in his journal. But now he's walking through one of the many halls in Hogwarts with a book in his hand taking a pause when he hears a light cough in-front of him,
"You've been avoiding me." Pandora says as she takes the book from regulus hand. "No I haven't." Regulus says as he looks up at her finally meeting her gaze. He's never really been good at showing emotion on his face it's always calm and well you could say..perfect. "You have! You've been cutting corners and you've been dodging me at party's and we only text never talk in person!" "That's nonsense we're talking right now." Regulus says as he grabs his book back breaking the eye contact, "because I snuck up on you" she says back "pandora.." barty says as he approaches them both causing regulus to look over his shoulder and sees Evan walking silently behind barty with a smile.
"you said we'd talk to him together" barty finishes once he gets to us "uh no I said we could talk to him together never when."
"Talk to me about what." Regulus says with a sigh finally looking at the page number before shutting the book giving up "about why you've been sneaking about the halls, leaving the dorms at night, also getting up early and why we can never find you around the school." Evan says once he joins the circle formulated in the hall by the 4.
"Uh, is it bad that I just like my space and want to read in peace" regulus says quickly "oh no it wouldn't be a problem except you never leave with a book and you don't return with one either and you would have lent me atleast one of the 20 you've read if you were really reading and gave me a whole reason of why you liked it!" Pandora says just as quickly her blonde brow lifting. "Oh" regulus says "oh? That's it" barty says next "guys please I'm not ignoring you." Regulus says with a sigh as he begins to walk.
it's not that he is trying to ignore them he just doesn't know how to tell them he's dating James secretly and is totally into him unlike any before and that James is also keeping it a secret from Sirius and anytime regulus sees pandora,barty,or Evan coming his way he can't help but go the other direction because he doesn't know what to say his brain literally freezes and he can't think of responses and he starts to panic.
He doesn't like panicking so he avoids them..ignore is a strong word. "How is it that we've only spoken 5 times this week and that's in the dorm before you leaveeee" barty says dragging that last word with a high voice. "I'm a very busy guy?" "Busy with what?" Evan chimes in "your- uh good question. I need to think-" "about!" They all say in sync "I'm seeing someone!" I say back "what-" barty says his mouth slightly open as Evan lifts his hand shutting it for him "oh" pandora says with a smile before it drops
"Wait- you've been ignoring us for someone your dating!" She says with a yell. "Ignoring is a strong word." I say turning my head to the side squinting my eyes "I was just being agile."
