Everyone stood in silence, watching where the two girls had been seconds before.

"But where did they go?" Kiko asked.

"They went home, just like they wanted." Phoenix whispered, as though she couldn't talk any louder.

Everyone stared at Tedros, who sat on his knees, looking miserable. Agatha hadn't taken his hand.

The happy ending hadn't needed a prince.

"All right everyone, back to your schools." Lady Lesso said, looking slightly shocked at the turn of events.

"I daresay we need sleep after everything." Professor Dovey agreed, ushering the Ever students closest to her. "Come on now."

Phoenix didn't want to let go of Ravan's hand.

"Can we still be friends?" Phoenix asked him quietly.

"Of course." Ravan nodded. "I suppose I'll see you in Forest Group?"

Phoenix beamed and nodded. She hugged Ravan before following the Ever girls back to the castle, feeling happy.

"Isn't this weird." Kiko linked arms with Phoenix. "Whatever I was expecting of attending the School for Good, it wasn't this."

"I know." Phoenix said. "But think about it, once we graduate, we'll look back and wouldn't want anything to be different."

Kiko giggled and the girls walked back to the classroom, chatting to Tristan.

Everyone sat chatting in the breakfast hall, absolutely ravenous.

"Everyone who requires healing, come over this way!" Phoenix stood on one of the chairs, garnering everyone's attention. Professor Dovey stood with her, holding the vials of Phoenix's tears. The students with the worst injuries came forward to allow themselves to be healed. With a singular splash of tears, the wounds closed up, good as new. Phoenix smiled as she spoke to each student, some who were still in shock by the events. Phoenix had even thought ahead to send some tear vials with Castor back to the School for Evil, and she was sure Lady Lesso and Ravan knew perfectly well how to utilise them.

The nymphs began serving steaming hot food, and after everyone had eaten, Professor Dovey sent everyone to bed.

And that's when the screaming pierced their ears.
