Prologue

Walking. An evening. It was wonderful to feel the cold autumn wind blowing through my hair. Normally I always listen to music, but during evening walks I just want to listen to the nature. The crickets chirping softly in the bush next to me. A bird with a worm in its beak to feed its young. I enjoy my life.

I walk to the pond and sit on the red bench. I watch large jets of water coming from the fountain. I breathe in very deeply. I smell the scent of the pine needles under the tree and the wet leaves under my feet. I snuggle up in my warm winter coat for a while. The wool lining rubs against my arms.

Footstep. Creaking of branches. I look around in horror. The bushes behind me are empty. I think. "It must have been a bird," I say to myself as I prepare to get up. More cracking. Another footstep. Now I'm really scared. A hand around my throat. Air, I need some air and quickly. Carefully, with the last of my strength, I try to turn around. I look straight into the face of a black shadow, which pulls me along. "Let... let go..." I try to say, but the shadow doesn't respond. "You took her away from me," says the shadow. "And now you're going to pay for it." A female voice. That voice...

The shadow finally lets go of my neck but not my body. She pushes me flat on the ground. I gasp again. 'What are you doing?! Who are you?' "Stop asking stupid questions," the shadow says and pushes a cloth with some liquid on my mouth.

I struggle and try to push her away from me. I slowly feel my body becoming weak and lifeless and I can no longer struggle. My eyes close and before I know it I feel nothing anymore.
