Chapter three

As i was listening to heavy metal music, my uncle came in. 'Can you order dinner, Ivy?' I sighed. This was the third time this week and it was only Thursday. But when i looked at my uncle's skinny body, i knew I couldn't do anything else. I grabbed my phone to order a pizza, when i saw a text from a random person. 'Who is that...' i said. I unlocked my phone and the text said: 'Can we meet somewhere? Like the restaurant? Max.' I tried to remember who this dude was and i think its that boy with the fluffy hair who kept staring at me in french class. What does he want from me? 'Idk.' I send back. I got almost immediately a reply saying: 'Oh.' I felt bad that i was a little rude, so i typed something else. 'Not tonight. Family reasons.' I knew I couldn't leave cause of my uncle. 'Maybe tomorrow?' 'Sure.' Wait. Why is he trying to ask me out? I mean, i could use him, for.... Things, but yea... Lets see. Then my uncle yelled: 'Did u order something Ivy??' 'I forgot, I'll do it now!' I screamed back.

My uncle raised me. My parents died when i was younger. They were mysteriously killed. I know its not true, but i never talked about it with my uncle. He is not in a good condition, with mental and physical health problems. He has a drawer full of guns and knifes. And when hes mad, he gets one of his knifes and aggressively starts chopping vegetables. U really need to watch out for him than.  I never really thought that he was able to raise me. He didn't anyways. I raised myself. He never sang lullaby's for me or go to the movie theater with me. The only thing he did was pay for my school and food. I always said that he needs to find help, but he keep denying it. I heard the bell ring and I ran downstairs.

'Pizza delivery.' The guy said. I grabbed the pizza and closed the door before he could say anything else. I threw the pizza's on the table and grabbed two plates. My uncle was watch some kind of movie with a beer in is left hand. 'Here.' I handed him his plate with 3 pizza points. 'Thanks.' He said. I grabbed my phone and sat at the table while eating the pizza. I scrolled though snapchat and left everyone on the read. I didn't have much friends. Lets say zero. Everybody thinks I'm weird or creepy, which i am tho. Most of the people just don't know. I finished my pizza and said: 'Imma go sleep. Goodnight.' 'Goodnight.' He said, only paying attention to his movie. I sighed and walked up the stairs. I took a shower. I normally think of so many things when I'm in the shower, like school and... But my head was just empty. Completely empty. I washed my greasy hair and stepped out of the shower. As i put on my underwear and brushed my teeth, i think of Max his text. The words 'can we meet' and 'oh' kept running through my head. I got to bed and fell asleep peacefully. Very peacefully.

As i drive to school the next morning, i was prepared for stares and people laughing at my clothes. I had my airpods in, so no one could hurt me. At least I don't hear their insults. 'So if i put 3 and equal it with 7 u get 24, do y'all get it?' Her words flew against my head when i was drawing in my notebook while math class. Suddenly i get a little note passed by one of my classmates. Surprised i open the note. 'We are still on for tonight right? -Max.' Him. Again. 'Sure.' I write and i pass the note back to Max. I see him open the note and smile. Weirdo. We all walked to Maya memorial. I was last, as usual and i just stood there when someone asked me: 'Ain't it sad, about Maya. She did nothing wrong! Who would do that?' I nod my head to agree with her, but as soon ad i walked away, i smiled.

I smiled out of happiness that my plan was working.
