[S4 EP4] Other Side

Current Day, 3rd POV

"How is she holdin' up?" Kenny asked as he approached Javi.

"She's been better," Javi sighed as he and Kenny made their way to the armory. "I told her we shouldn't have tried for a baby,"

"There ain't nothin' wrong with it," Kenny said. "Whatever she is feeling or going for right now is natural. Trust me, I've had a few encounters with it,"

"I remember you telling me you had a kid," Javi said. They stopped right at the door and Javi opened it, walking inside. Kenny followed behind him. Walking in, they noticed Ava inspecting a pistol. "Something caught your eye, Ava?"

"The symbol on this pistol," She said. "I told you last time we went out, we found a shit load of supplies with this same symbol,"

Javi sighed. "I don't know what to tell you. Richmond has been searched up and down, and we haven't come across that symbol,"

"I'm just saying if we run into these guys, it won't be pretty," Ava said.

"I know," Javi said. "Do we look good in here?"

Ava nodded. "We're doing better than I initially thought. We're loaded on ammo, guns, and suppressors."

Kenny smiled. "That's what I like to hear!"

Javi and Kenny exit the Armory, with Javi closing the door behind them. "Back to what I was saying, I remember you telling me you had A kid. How did you encounter another pregnancy?"

"An old group I was in," Kenny said. "Back when Clem and I were together, so a while before I ran into Prescott. There was this chick who was pregnant, and since I was the only one with experience in said situation, I swooped in and helped her,"

"What a hero," Javi sarcastically said.

Walking out, Javi looked out at New Frontier. They have come a long way since Javi and Kate took over. They've not only gotten more people but have expanded into numerous outposts in Richmond. They also had allies now.

"Javi!" A voice called out to him. Cocking his head left, Javi smiled as Gabe approached him.

"Sup kiddo," Javi said. 

"Something's going on outside the gates," Gabe said. 

Javi and Kenny looked at each other, their faces scrunching up as they started to follow Gabe towards the gates. As Javi followed Gabe, his eyes wandered towards Gabe's left wrist. Memories of that night flooded into his head, and despite it being several years since the incident it still felt recent.

Gabe had shown up a little while after Clem left to search for AJ. He was alone, covered in blood. David was nowhere to be seen, despite leaving with Gabe during the fight. After settling down, Gabe told Javi that David had taken him far from them. David proceeded to cut off Gabe's left wrist to save him from turning. Gabe told Javi that David went ballistic after he got bit, and ended up taking his anger out on an innocent group of survivors who were settled up in the forest, huddled around a campfire.
