Mutasim P.O.V
My pact partner, Seere, Astrid and I walked around Berk, making sure everyone was okay and we, of course, visited her parents who were safe and sound. Apparently they were at the yak races when the attack happened so they were nowhere near the sites of the attack. It greatly eased Astrid's mind when she learned that.
Right now, we had just returned to the arena which was now a dragon training space as opposed to what it was once made for; dragon killing. Inside, Hiccup and the rest of the group and their dragons were resting up too. As soon as we entered, Hiccup approached us.
Hiccup: Astrid. How's your family?
Astrid: They're okay. Their house... The house I grew up in, is gone.
Dragon: Such trifle creations can be rebuilt, better than before. It is not something to worry over.
Seere: Sorry about her, but she doesn't like humans a lot. Its more like she... tolerates them. And she just says things as they are. Right Mutasim?
I nodded in agreement. Seere was pretty spot on with it. My partner wasn't really known for beating around the bush and was a very direct person. So lets just say when it came down to emotional support, she should be one of the last people you could talk to about it.
Snotlout came up to Astrid and rested an elbow on her shoulder.
Snotlout: Hey Astrid, do you need a shoulder to cry on?
She simply looked at him before grabbing his arm, spun him around and then tossed him against a wall. Nice to know that some things hadn't changed over the years. Such as Snotlout getting his ass kicked nearly all the time.
Astrid: Thanks Snotlout, I really needed that.
She helped him up to his feet, but it was clear he was still in some form of pain.
Hiccup: Listen up everyone. Dagur was last seen fleeing due north. By my calculations, he should be heading outside the archipelago. So, we're going back to Dragon's Edge first thing tomorrow. We'll use that as our base to search for him. Just go back to your houses and get a good night's sleep.
I recall Astrid saying something about Dragon's Edge while we were walking through Berk. I guess it was just a home away from home. Not a bad idea to have two bases.
I sat down in the centre of the arena, noticing that the sun was setting. Considering the mess, Seere, my partner and I had to battle through, rest was like a distant dream at the time. But now... Now we could actually relax. My partner sat beside me along with Seere.
Seere: So are we going to sleep here for the night?
I nodded.
Dragon: Seere, if you wish, you can sleep in one of the other houses.
Seere: No thanks. I'm good here!
Astrid: Any chance you have room for two more?
The three of us turned to our right, seeing Astrid set up a sleeping bag while her dragon laid down. I nodded, making Astrid smile as she sat down next to me. To my surprise, the other Riders were also setting up their beds here in the arena. Guess they just wanted to show support for Astrid.
Hiccup: Hey, how about some stories too? Its been awhile since we last saw you Mutasim, I'm sure you've got a lot of tales.
Dragon: None that would be suitable for you. The trials we've faced are the stuff of nightmares. Nightmares you couldn't possibly begin to imagine.
Tuffnut: Oh! I love scary stories! Kind of like Breakneck Bog. It was disappointing when it turned out to just be dragons though.
Fishlegs: Uhh I'm not really a fan of scary stories.
