The TARDIS landed in a spot far away from the base exploding underneath the London Eye. The people of Earth would never learn of the battle under their feet. The Doctor was right -- the human race is an ignorant species.
Willow, however, was no longer naive, and neither was Rose and Mickey. The young man stumbled out of the TARDIS, practically sprinting as he gawped at the impossible blue box. His girlfriend stepped out shortly after, casually dialling her mother on her phone.
It wasn't long before the young woman emerged from within, her gaze drawn to the few stars above her head. For a moment, she thought she'd never see them again. She just saved the world. Not just that -- her freaky visions helped. Willow bowed her head, opening her palms and stretching her fingers. One hand was still gloved, but the other could feel the cool wind wrap itself around her flesh.
With a gentle flutter of her fingertips, her hand twitching in the cold, Willow wondered what this meant for her future. If she could do this, then what else could she do?
She retrieved her other glove from her jacket pocket and slipped it back onto her hand; she'd had enough visions for the day. Willow glanced at her foster sister, who hung up on her mother with an oddly gleeful smile on her face. "Is Jackie okay?"
"She's terrified," she chuckled, scraping a hand through her blonde hair, "but all right."
"Good." She nodded, a soft grin growing on her face.
Rose ran over to her boyfriend, who was cowering in the distance, whimpering like a scared dog. "A fat lot of good you were."
The young women looked back, observing the Doctor as he leaned against the doorway. "Nestene Consciousness?" He snapped his fingers, smirking. "Easy."
"Um, who was the one who got himself captured?" Willow mentioned. "You'd be dead..." she paused momentarily and considered including herself in the conversation. But then again, Willow only made Rose go through it because she saw it happen. It could have been her sister's thought, to begin with, if she hadn't meddled so soon. She didn't want to steal what was supposed to be her glory. "... If it wasn't for Rose."
Of course, Rose scoffed. "Yeah, but it was your idea." Oh, if only she knew. "If anything, we both saved the world." Her sister took her hand, beaming away. Her head snapped towards the Doctor, pointing at herself and Willow. "You'd be dead if it wasn't for us."
And to their joint surprise, he agreed, swallowing his pride. "Yes, I would. Thank you." The Doctor eyed both of the women, grateful for their assistance. "Both of you." He clapped his hands together, rubbing his palms. "Right then, I'll be off."
Willow's cheerful expression fell. "Now?"
He popped his lips, crossing his arms. "Yeah, it's what usually happens after these things."
