Kartik approaches Naira, who is sleeping

Kartik: (whispers)
Naira, I have your medicines. You need to take them.

Naira stirs slightly, mumbling in her sleep

Kartik: (softly)
Shh, it's alright. Sleep well.

He ensures Naira is settled and approaches the table to pick up the diary. The room is hushed, the only sound the faint shuffle of paper. Shravan and Tanya are preparing for Veer's stay.

Kartik: (in a low voice)
Veer, this way please. Your room is all set.

He sits down with the diary, his heart pounding with anticipation and worry. His mind races as he prepares to unravel Naira's secrets.

Kartik: (thinking)
Let's see what's in here.

He opens the diary, reading about Naira's entry into the notorious Midnight Enclave and her initial involvement in criminal activities. Each page seems to reveal more of her troubled past.

Kartik: Quoted - "I commited my first murder today. I feel very bad. I ruined someone's family. I was so selfish. I shot him. Badly. He died. Infront of me. Asking for help. But I didn't."

He continues reading, finding a page where Naira has marked the count of her committed murders.

Kartik: Quoted - "For all the lives i took"

He saw that there were 33 tally marks there, showing that she killed 33 till date.
She mentioned in the footnote, how she bruises her back with a knife everytime she kills sombody.

He softly turns Naira to inspect her back, where he notices the dark bruises that tell the tale of her inner turmoil and suffering.

Kartik: (whispering)
Oh, Naira. The pain you've endured...

He carefully covers her back and sits beside her, overwhelmed by the weight of Naira's past and the realization of her enduring struggle.

Kartik read a lot about Naira in the diary. He read about all her inner feelings. He got to know about how bad naira felt every time she took a life. He got to know what support she demands. He read a line where naira.

"I lie awake in the darkness, haunted by the weight of my past. The desire to break free from this ruthless world gnaws at my insides, yet I am trapped. Every breath I take feels suffocating, as though the walls are closing in on me. The Midnight Enclave has its grip on me, and there's no escaping it. The blood on my hands stains my soul, reminding me that redemption is a distant dream. I long to step into the light, but the shadows refuse to release their hold on me."

This shows that Naira wants to get out from this but she cannot.
But now, Kartik is determined to get her out from her trauma, her problems, her situation and her past.

When Kartik turned the page, he saw the photo of a guy. The guy was named as 'Aarav'. He further read.

"Today, amidst the chaos and shadows, I chanced upon a flicker of light. His name is Aarav, and his warmth caught me off guard. We met at the corner café, and as we started talking, I felt an unusual comfort. His laughter filled the air, momentarily drowning out the echoes of gunshots that usually plague my mind. For a moment, it felt like the darkness had retreated, allowing me to breathe freely. Aarav's genuine smile ignited a spark within me, a feeling I had almost forgotten."

On reading further, he read that Naira was in love but, he read further-

"In the safety of my room, I thought Aarav was my anchor. But tonight, reality hit hard. The soft moonlight uncovered the unthinkable — Aarav locked in an embrace with another woman, right there in my sacred space. Betrayal's bitter sting tightened its grip on my heart, each breath feeling like a desperate struggle. Shards of shattered trust glistened in the moon's gentle glow, mirroring the cracks in my guarded soul. I was overwhelmed by a tempest of emotions, tearing apart what remained of my faith in human connections. The pain cut deep, each moment burning a new scar on my already wounded spirit. How could the one I loved devastate me so callously? The very foundation of my trust lay in ruins, and the sanctity of my safe haven was tarnished irreparably. My heart wailed in silent agony, the pain becoming an inseparable part of my existence."

Kartik felt a surge of profound empathy and protectiveness as he absorbed the weight of Naira's painful past etched in the diary. The bruises on her back, vivid symbols of her unspoken agony, heightened his desire to shield her from any more harm. Despite the darkness, a determined resolve blossomed within him, urging him to be her unwavering support in her journey towards healing and redemption.
