Charlie scoffed at the note and crumpled it into a ball before throwing it across the room. Evan picked it up curiously and read it out loud to everyone else. "'I'm sorry'? That's an odd note," he remarked.

Charlie wrinkled her nose in disdain. "A pathetic note is more like it. Just another terrible Afton to add to the mix." She glanced up at her three siblings who looked varying levels of displeased by the comment. "You three don't count. It's just the two of them. Unless he adopted a full evil murder robot builder squad."

"I think she deserves the benefit of the doubt," Evan offered. "She doesn't exactly seem happy about all this either."

"Yet she also hurt Charlie more than necessary and is a jerk," Elizabeth cut in.

"Michael used to be worse," Evan countered with a shrug, causing Michael to cringe at how awful he used to be towards Evan before the three of them moved in with Henry. Evan didn't seem resentful, though.

Charlie rolled her eyes. "Michael's old and wise or something now, why don't we hear from him?" she glared slightly at Michael, obviously expecting him to side against Evan.

"None of you are entirely wrong," he began in an attempt at being diplomatic. "however, it doesn't really matter since Uncle Henry will be here soon, right? There aren't any animatronics here so everything should be fine."

"Nice cop-out," Elizabeth said tauntingly.

Michael threw a plastic barf bucket at her, knowing that she'd catch it. "Probably be a better idea to come up with some back up plans anyway."

Evan glanced up at the clock on the wall. "We have about ten more minutes. There doesn't seem to be anything useful in here. I don't have anything that'll be useful in my backpack. I doubt Lizzie has anything in hers. Charlie's hand is still broken. Your side is still injured, despite you trying to act like it's not... we better hope that even if we do come up with a back-up plan it's unnecessary."

"My side is fine. I was never badly injured in the first place," Michael protested.

"And my hand is fine! It's not like I broke any bones, just some skin," Charlie added.

Evan grimaced as he glanced at the two of them. "You're setting a bad example by not caring for injuries," he muttered, as though only bold enough to say it at a volume they may or may not hear.

"If worst comes to worst, we use violence," Elizabeth interrupted. "There's two of them and four of us. We can always break something if we need weapons, glass can be formidable but there's not any glass in here. I have a couple pencils in my backpack, it's not much but they're still pretty sharp and would hurt to get stabbed with. If that doesn't work, I can throw a decent punch."

Charlie barely held back a laugh. "Please, you couldn't hurt Evan with a punch. Much less an adult."

"Wanna test that theory?" Elizabeth challenged with a slight smirk.

"I'd rather we didn't," Evan said with a deeply concerned look on his face.

Charlie gave Elizabeth a haughty, joking glare. "Fine then. Punch me."

Michael immediately stepped between the two. "Nope! Nuh-uh. None of us will be punching each other as some sort of strength test. Despite how you two act sometimes, Uncle Henry is not raising barbarians. Preferably no stabbing anyone with a pencil as well. No violence would be ideal and if all else fails we run and everyone for themselves, yeah?"

Charlie crossed her arms. "As if anyone will follow that rule. Much less yourself. Even I find violence more likely, despite not being as bloodthirsty as Lizzie."

"I'm not bloodthirsty!"

"You're as bloodthirsty as a vampire bat, shut up."

"Miiiiiiike, Charlie's bullying me," Elizabeth said dramatically.

"That's not my problem— ugh. Let's just not call each other vampire bats and not advocate for excessive violence, yeah?" Michael said, sounding exasperated as he attempted to maintain peace.

"It is not excessive," Elizabeth mumbled to herself.

Evan frowned and walked over to the door to listen. "Do you guys hear that?"

The other three forgot the quarrel and immediately rushed over to press their ears against the door. There were definitely people arguing. Yelling. An overconfident Brit and an incredibly angry American. William and Henry, respectively.

"Oops..." Elizabeth accidentally turned the door handle she'd been holding onto and all four practically fell over as they stumbled out and the door swung open. Apparently the door had not been relocked.

William and Henry didn't seem to have noticed, William looked vaguely annoyed and was playing with a small remote in his hand. Henry was yelling and looked as though he would very much like to strangle William.

"We could sneak attack Father while he's not paying attention so it's easy to get away," Elizabeth whispered, holding up a pencil from her backpack as the four moved behind a stack of boxes to watch the fight play out.

"I worry about you sometimes," Michael said with a sigh and promptly confiscated said pencil, despite Elizabeth's quiet protests, and handed it to Evan, who put it into his backpack.

"Her idea isn't all that terrible," a fifth voice whispered from behind them.

Evan practically jumped as he turned, Elizabeth looked as though she was deciding to be pleased or mad, Charlie has firmly settled on mad, and Michael just seemed mildly surprised upon seeing Nessa again.

She tilted her head and scowled at the kids. "Whatever you're going to do, you better hurry before you're noticed."

"We'll take our time and take advice from decent people, thanks," Charlie snapped sarcastically.

Nessa winced. "That's fair and I'm sorry, but I can't really explain. Let's just say things will all around be worse if you get caught. Is that so hard to believe?"

"I more likely to stab you with a pencil than believe a word you say," Elizabeth piped up.

Michael side eyed her and Evan backed away slightly. Accidentally knocking over a box that was definitely loud enough to get them caught.

William and Henry stopped arguing immediately. William glared and Nessa and subtly pressed a button on the remote. She cringed and rubbed her right arm.

Henry ran over to the kids and hugged them tightly. He frowned upon seeing Charlie's hand. "What happened?"

"Punched a car window to unlock it from the inside," she replied, holding back a grin.

William cleared his throat and tilted his head. "I know remember why I hate family reunions, but at least I can break it up without any guilt. Now, some may call me petty and childish for this, but I have always been dead set on getting my way. Unfortunately for you two, you always seem to be getting in the way of me having things exactly how I want to. It's is unimaginably frustrating and inconsiderate. Such a shame that you've left me no choice but to kill you! With the help of Vanessa of course."

AN: I have no idea how to write in that William injected a controlled shock chip into Nessa's arm (so that she would do what he wants because he's the worst) other than implying it or giving one  of them a short monologue about it. So. Author's note.
