Chapter 8: Barry's Best Friend Is Back

At Cecile and Barry's Apartment

Barry was cleaning the apartment as he forgot to pick up the trash and dishes.

Cecile walks into the apartment sees the place is a mess and says "Barry?"

Barry says "I haven't had time to clean yet, babe."

Cecile chuckles and says "Hey, I got some old books I wrote and I don't have room at the office. Can I put them in our closet?"

Barry says "Sure. I'm just gonna tidy a bit while you do that."

Cecile smiles and she walks in, closes the door, and walks upstairs to their room. 

Barry grabbed a bowl of bananas that were spoiled.

Cecile yells upstairs "Hey, Barry. I'm sorry, you're not a teacher like you wanted. I know you really wanted to, and I know you told me this a long time ago, but I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it."

Barry yells "It's fine, honey. Honestly, I love what I do now. Even if I'm not doing my dream."

As he threw away the bananas.

Cecile yells "I'm proud of you, Barry. Even though you wanted to do this teaching thing, you really found something else you love."

Barry yells "I don't deserve you."

Cecile yells "Of course, you do. I love you."

Barry looks at the stairs and says "And I love you. More than anything, Cecile, I do."

Barry smiles.

Then he grabbed a Chinese rice cup and threw those away.

Barry yells "Hey, how was work? I should have asked before you went upstairs."

Cecile yells upstairs "It was good. I like being close to the action. But I'm also glad we got each other and baby Nora to look after."

Barry yells "How is she?"

Cecile yells "Sleeping, thankfully."

Barry chuckles.

Cecile yells "Hey, what is this?"

Barry stopped and went upstairs to their room and entered and saw she was looking at old baby photos of him.

Cecile asks "Is all this your mom's stuff?"

Barry says "Yeah. I was given this a while ago. I didn't want to give them away. What are you looking at?"

Cecile smiles and says "Some pretty cute old photos of you..."

Barry looks at them and says "Man, I haven't seen these in a while."

Barry picked up a photo of him in his room with a hole in the wall with eyes drawn above the hole and a piece of tape on the photo with the word 'Balance' on it.

Barry says "I think that was in my bedroom. Why did Joe take a picture of that? 'Balance'. What does that mean? Wonder if this is still there. I'm going to go take a look. You wanna come to Joe's house, Cecile? I wanna check my old room."

Cecile smiles and says "Sure. Why not."

Barry speeds them there in seconds.

At Joe's House

Barry knocks on the door when he arrives at the door.

Joe opens it and says "Barr? What are you doing here?"

Barry says "Sorry. I saw an old photo and I wanted to check my old room."

Joe says "Of course. Go ahead, kid. You know you can. That room will always be there for you."
