"You've obviously cheated me out of winning!" Power whined, filling the room with her loud, carrying voice which pierced through the quiet. Aki smirks to her, raveling in how upset she'd became at her defeat.
"No, I guess that I'm just better then you." Aki says in somewhat of a mumble.
"Better then I?" Power's face becomes red with heat, "Said no one! No one comes near the greatness of Power!" She beamed at him, throwing her controller to the ground. "Stupid game! Stupid people!" She growled, jumping up and stomping the controller that she'd thrown into the couch.
"This is a waste of time anyways." Aki rolled his eyes, as she mangled the piece of plastic."You could be doing productive things in the real world... Maybe it'll make you smarter." He comments.
"GRAAAH! I am already so smart you cannot comprehend it, dumb mortal boy!" She roars, pummeling towards him, Aki gives a shocked yelp as she burrows towards him and they squabble like siblings. Meanwhile, Denji quietly pushes the front door open, not taking time to observe the two. As he snuck around the room, he trips over a stray can on the ground which stops the pairs fighting, but trips over a stray piece of plastic left over from Power's temper tantrum. Power turns her head to look towards him and a smile lights her face upon making eye contact.
"Denji! Denji's home!" Power loudly announces, "My friend, my real friend, that doesn't ridicule me!" Aki's mouth falls wide open at her comment. Power then continues, "I thought that you were leaving forever; I missed you so much, I invited Aki to our lovely home- even though he quit the Public Service!" Aki looks offended at Power's comment but instead of picking another argument with the impossible girl, he rolls his eyes and lets his anger go. He then turns his attention to the more prevalent issue, Denji.
"What's she going on about, Denji?" Aki asks him.
"Nothing!" Denji hisses, stomping off to his room like a teenager mad at his parents. Aki grows more puzzled, turning to Power.
"Do not ask Power! She is sworn to secrecy." She shakes her head and puts her hand up to his face, "If you want to talk about it, you will talk to thou hand! Which shall also say... Nothing!" She laughs heartily. Aki disregards her, walking past and knocking on the door that Denji was now behind.
"Denji?" Aki asked, "What's the matter."
"...Nothing!" Denji repeats, packing a garbage bag full of the little belongings that he had. His green jacket, some clothes, a tooth brush, and the stuffed animal Reze won him which was put into the bag last so that it wouldn't be smashed. He knew that his friends worry were growing, but he assumed he wouldn't be smart enough to put it in words that sounded well enough to justify what he was doing... He wanted to leave and be happy with Reze, but would the pursuit of happiness be enough of an explanation to his friend? Yes, Aki also left the public service, but Aki had fought his fight diligently he had more then enough right to leave. Denji, however, had just taken up Makima's kindness and now wanted to leave because he found someone else that made him happier. He felt as if he were stepping all over these new, great people he had just met and taken advantage of him. He wondered; would Aki ridicule him, call him dumb for switching the path of his life? He had nothing planned, other then the simple fact he wanted to be with Reze... He feared Aki would call him irresponsible. Power didn't intimidate Denji as much, they were like the same people with the same thoughts and felt so similar that he could almost read her mind... But Aki was different. He was smart and calculated, like Reze. They'd be great friends; Denji thought. Denji knew that this was what Reze meant when she told him she "fantasized" about the future... Denji did too. He thought about how he could bring her here and everyone could just get along. Everyone could be friends. He wished that Reze wasn't so stubborn, but if leaving is what would make her happy, he was willing to do it.
