Trevor is in complete shock and doesn't move for a moment. He takes a deep breath as he walks closer to him. "Sam?.....But I thought you were....dead... I thought you and Daniel were both....gone.."
Samuel looks away from him and hesitates to speak. "Unfortunately..., it's just me." Trevor turns around for a second and rubs his forehead in disbelief. He faces him again and Samuel looks back at him. "What do you mean unfortunately? I'm happy to see at least one of you... Who... all knows about you being here?"
Amelia interrupts him. "It's kind of a long story Trevor. I can fill you in a little bit later. He really needs stitches and then we have to leave." Trevor shakes his head a little and starts cleaning the wound. "Why do you have to leave? How long have you been here?"
She jumps in to the conversation again. "He's actually been here through the entire thing... He's been in the woods trying to protect us all. He has to leave so nobody sees him." Trevor gets a confused look on his face as he starts to stitch his wound.
"Wait, why can't anyone see him? I don't... understand." He replies. Samuel speaks up before anyone else can. "Trevor... all I can say for now is that... there's more going on than you know.. I was convicted for something that I didn't do when I was stationed in France."
Suddenly, they hear footsteps coming down the hallway towards the infirmary room. Amelia's eyes widen and she whispers to Trevor. "What do we do?" Trevor cuts the last stitch and hurries out of the room.
Elliot and Amelia try to quietly hide Samuel, and themselves. They can faintly hear the conversation from outside of the room. "Trevor? What are you doing in there? We didn't get another injured person did we?"
Trevor replies calmly. "No, I was just cleaning some of the medical tools. What are you doing? It's late." She replies with a curious tone. "You're cleaning the tools right now? I was just going to get some medicine for Quinn. He's having trouble sleeping tonight."
It's quiet for a second and Irene talks again. "Trevor, can I go in?" Their hearts start beating a little faster. "Actually, let me get them. I've got the cleaning fumes in the air. You really shouldn't breathe them in." He replies.
"You shouldn't either. Are you okay Trevor?" She says suspiciously. Amelia whispers as quietly as possible. "He's not going to be able to lie to her..." They hear Irene speak again. "Trevor, you're acting strange. Stay out here for a minute. I'll be fast."
The door opens and they see Trevor walking in behind her. They all hold their breath. "Trevor, what is that?" She says as her voice gets closer to where they're hiding. Trevor gently grabs her hand. "Here it is. The medicine you needed."
She hesitates for a moment and leaves the room with the medicine. They all let out a sigh of relief and come out. Amelia looks at Trevor. "Thank you..." He nods and has a guilty look on his face. "I can't lie to her Amelia. She's going to find out."
Amelia thinks for a second. "We need to try to keep it a secret as long as we can though... I think she would be fine.. Samuel isn't ready to see her though." Samuel thanks Trevor. "I'll tell her. But just not yet."
Trevor furrows his eyebrows. "Why can't you now though?" Samuel sighs. "Because Trevor... I failed her completely. What am I supposed to say to her?" He shakes his head a bit. "What about Adam? He's the sheriff... he can help."
Elliot chimes in before Amelia can speak. "Actually..., he knows already." Trevor runs his fingers through his hair. "How long has he known?" Elliot replies back to him. "As long as we have..."
"So Adam knows...., now I know.. but she can't? This is Irene Samuel.. She deserves to know. And you didn't fail her. Daniel was a man too, you didn't go to protect him. Him dying wasn't your fault." Trevor replies.
