Chater 5: The More, the Merrier

That weekend, Aurora had gotten texts from her friends that they were going to come and visit her with her adoptive father. They were concerned about her when Noah had told them that she would be out of school. Aurora sat on the couch in the living room next to her dad as they played a video game on his Xbox. Both of them were leaning forward as they were concentrating on their game. Rosalie then came into the living room and said, her hands on her hips, "When did you say your friends were coming, Rory?" Aurora barely glanced at her mother and replied, "Sometime today, Mom. Scott and Stiles said that they would call or text me when they got closer." Rosalie nodded and said, as she sat down on the couch next to the one her husband and daughter were sitting on, "Alright, I was just making sure. What are you and your dad playing?" Aurora replied, with her tongue sticking out in concentration, "Mario Kart and I'm winning!!" Emmett scoffed with a smile and said, pushing the buttons even harder on the controller, "Not by a long shot, kiddo!" Rosalie rolled her eyes with a soft smile at her husband and daughter's competitiveness. She was taken by surprise when she learned how competitive Aurora was. She and her family learned that pretty quickly whenever they played baseball or if she played chess with her uncles or played video games with her father. Then, suddenly the door bell rang, grabbing Rosalie's attention. She went to open the door but Esme had beaten her to it. As Esme opened the door, Aurora let out a loud 'yes' when she had beaten her father at his own game. Emmett groaned and said, high fiving his daughter, "Good job, kiddo. I think next game we should play is Call of Duty." Rosalie turned to her husband and said, "No violent games in this household, Emmett Cullen." Aurora snorted at her father's scared expression, trying to keep from laughing. Emmett then glared playfully at Aurora and lunged towards her, tickling her. In their little tickle fight, Aurora didn't even notice her boyfriend, adoptive brother, and friends walk in as she laughed so hard that her stomach hurt.

Esme led her granddaughter's friends and adoptive family into the house, leading them to the living room. The woman watched as her adoptive son tickled her adoptive granddaughter, causing the girl to burst out laughing. Aurora noticed her grandmother and shouted, laughing, "Nana!! Help me!!" Esme chuckled and said, clearing her throat, "Emmett, dear, we have guests." Emmett looked up from tickling his daughter who let out a breathless laugh and he smiled sheepishly. He then stood up and said, introducing himself, "Hi, guys. I'm Emmett, Aurora's bio dad." Aurora then lifted herself from the couch and let out a sigh. Her eyes then landed on Noah, smiling brightly, and said, "Dad!!!" At first, Emmett thought Aurora had meant him and he looked at her but his mood faltered just a bit when she raced to Noah. Noah smiled brightly at the sight of his adoptive daughter and wrapped his arms around her. He chuckled and said, "Hey, sweetheart, how have you been?" Aurora smiled and replied, "Good, Dad. Missed you though." Noah chuckled again and said, "I've missed you too, kiddo." Aurora then turned to her friends who brought her into a group hug. She smiled and said to her friends, "I've missed you guys." Isaac grinned at his best friend and replied to her, as others nodded in agreement, "We've missed you too. As did Coach Finstock and Deputy Parrish, surprisingly. They asked us about you almost every day." Aurora snorted and said to Isaac, "I guess I have that charm. Coach Finstock and Deputy Parrish always liked me more than some of us." Lydia snickered and said, "Nobody likes a bragger; Rory." Aurora then turned to Scott who smiled lovingly at her and brought her into a kiss. Rosalie had to keep Emmett back from harming the boy who held their daughter's heart. Scott smiled at his girlfriend and said, "I've missed you, baby." Aurora sighed contentedly and replied, placing her hands on her boyfriend's cheeks, "I've missed you too, Scotty."

Then finally, she saved the best for last which was her adoptive older brother. Stiles had waited patiently till his adoptive little sister went around their friends to embrace her. It had been different and quiet without Aurora being home and Shadow hadn't gotten over her being gone either. There had been nights where Shadow would sleep on Aurora's bed rather than with Stiles like he normally would. Stiles grinned tearfully at his adoptive little sister and said to her, taking her into his arms, "Hey, little sis. Long time no see, huh?" Aurora giggled and replied, "Hi, big bro. I'm sure it wasn't that bad for me being gone that long." Stiles sighed and said to her, "You have no idea. Shadow has missed you big time. He slept on your bed a couple nights, whimpering too." Aurora's heart broke when she realized that she had forgotten about Shadow. Nala had been with her the entire time so she was sure that Shadow would've been content with Stiles. Besides, he was Stiles' dog like Nala was hers. Aurora sighed sadly and said, "Aw, poor Shadow man. Maybe after fall break is over, I can come home for a couple days and visit with you guys. But first, let me introduce you to my bio parents." She then turned to her biological parents and said to them, "Guys, these are my biological parents, Emmett and Rosalie. Mom, Dad, these are some of my friends, brother, and boyfriend. Lydia, Isaac, Scott, and Stiles." Rosalie and Emmett both gave their daughter's friends a nod and a soft smile, greeting them silently. Esme turned to her granddaughter and said to her, "If you'd like, Aurora, you can show your friends to the sun room and hang out there till you, your Aunt Bella, Uncle Edward, and Renesemee head over to the reservation." Just then, Edward had walked into the room, greeting his niece's friends. Aurora replied, "Okay, Nana."

With that, the teenage girl led her friends to the sun room, leaving her adoptive father behind with her biological family. The teenagers then began to get into a seat where they made themselves comfortable. Lydia turned to Aurora and said, a small smile on her face, "So, how have things been, Rory?" Aurora smiled and replied, as Scott sat next to her on the arm of the loveseat she sat in, "Surprisingly, it's been great. My bio parents are awesome, same with my aunts and uncles and cousin. Get this, they're all vampires." Scott looked at his girlfriend in shock and said to her, "So, what does that make you? I thought you were completely human." Aurora looked at her boyfriend and replied, "I am, Scotty. And it was a completely natural birth too, they don't know why I don't have any vampire qualities though. They said it was a miracle that my bio mom and I survived. My parents have invited me to stay till the summer where I can get to know them more and I've been thinking about staying." Isaac said, "So, does that mean you're going to stay here? And not come back to Beacon Hills?" Aurora turned to her best friend and replied, then said to her friends, "I'll come and visit, for sure, but.........this is my bio family, guys. I want to get to know them and be with them." Stiles nodded in agreement and said to his sister, "You have every right to, Rory. Nobody is saying that you shouldn't." Aurora then said, an idea coming to her mind, "Hey, you guys should totally come with me, Uncle Edward, Aunt Bella, and Nessie to the reservation. We've been making it our little trip together every week since I got here. They won't mind if you all came with us." Scott looked at his girlfriend in curiosity and said, "What's at the reservation?" Aurora smiled and replied, "A wolf pack, led by Sam Uley, or Uncle Sam as I call him. *As soon as she mentioned another wolf pack, Scott stared at her with a protective look in his eyes, which she noticed* You don't have to worry about anything, Scotty. All those boys are strictly just friends, almost like brothers. They're harmless. Wait till you see them, I'm sure you'll get along just fine." There was a soft knock on the opening, startling the teenagers, mostly Aurora. Edward stood in the doorway and said, mostly to his niece, "Sorry to scare you guys. Aurora; Aunt Bella, Renesmee, and I are getting ready to head down to the reservation when you're ready, kiddo." Aurora nodded at her uncle and replied, "Okay, Uncle Eddie. Would it be okay if my friends came? I thought it would be a good idea if they met all my new friends I've made here." Edward smiled and said, "I'm find with it as long as Mr. Stilinski is. They will have to bring another car with them though." Scott stood from his seat and replied, "We'll take mine, Mr. Cullen." Edward chuckled at the teenaged boy, who was his niece's boyfriend, and said, "Please, call me Edward. Mr. Cullen is Carlisle. *He then turned to his niece, giving her a small smile* Whenever you're ready, kiddo."

Aurora then followed after her uncle where he had walked outside of the house to where Bella and Renesemee were waiting for them. Bella smiled at her niece and said to her, "You ready, sweetheart?" Aurora grinned and replied, "Yep, Aunt Bella. I hope you don't mind that I invited my friends to come. I wanted them to meet the new friends I made while I had been here." Bella smiled and said, turning to see her niece's friends joining them, "Of course not." Renesemee turned to her cousin and said to Aurora, "You're riding with us though, right, Ari?" Bella placed her hand on her daughter's shoulder and said to her, "I'm sure Aurora wants to ride with her friends, baby. She hasn't seen them in awhile. She can ride with us on the next trip." Renesemee only sighed and replied, turning to get in the car, "Okay." Bella turned to her niece and said to her, glancing back at the other teenagers with concern in her eyes, "You'll be okay with them, right?" Aurora nodded and replied, "I promise, Aunt Bella. We'll be fine. We'll be right behind you guys." Bella watched as her niece then walked over to her friends who all smiled at her and talked amongst themselves as they got into Scott's car. Edward turned to his wife and said to her,  "She'll be fine, Bella. They'll look after her, besides, Sam and the other guys treat her as one of their own." Bella sighed and replied, turning to get into their own vehicle, "I know, Edward. It's just that......I promised Emmett and Rose that we'd look after her and keep her safe. I didn't keep my promise back then but I intend to keep it now."  Edward stood in his place as he kept a close eye on his niece who shared a kiss with Scott. After a moment, he shook his head and got into his car, driving off with the teenagers in tow.
