The next morning, Aurora rode in the car with her parents as they made their way to the airport to depart for Italy. Obviously, they couldn't drive all the way at to Italy since it was across the world from them. It would be the first international trip for Aurora since she's only ever been in Beacon Hills and now Forks. Rosalie turned to look at her daughter and said to her, "Have you ever been anywhere global, Aurora?" Aurora shook her head and replied, "Nope, the farthest I've ever been is Forks when I first met you guys. Never left Beacon Hills unless we had a some supernatural being to destroy. The only person I know who's been other places is Derek." Emmett's eyebrows furrowed and said, "Who's Derek?" Aurora chuckled and replied, "Relax, Dad. Derek's just a friend of mine and a member of Scott's pack. He had some major issues with his uncle so he had asked Scott and the others to help him. I joined in to make sure that they wouldn't get hurt or anything. He may seem weird at times but he's really cool when you get to know him. Apparently, I'm the only one who can get him to smile or do anything for that matter." Rosalie turned to see that they had arrived at the airport and said, "Oh, we're here." Even though they were all mostly vampires and could've sped across the world to Italy if they wanted to, but they wanted Aurora to experience the thrill of the adventure. Once they had parked their vehicles and had gone through security, the Cullen clan finally boarded their plane. Aurora sat between her uncle Edward and her grandfather Carlisle.
As for Rosalie and Emmett, they sat in the row behind the trio where they could keep a close eye on their daughter. Even though she was perfectly safe between her uncle, who was a mind reader, and her grandfather, who had years of experience as a vampire, they didn't want to take any chances. Throughout the ride, Aurora either played on her phone or her iPad or played rock, paper, siscors with her uncle and grandfather. Of course, with a flight that would last 8 hrs, it didn't take long before the teenager would be asleep. The next day, the small group arrived in Italy where they had went through customs and got their bags. Aurora stood between her parents and said, "Is the Volutri coming here or are we meeting them? If they're meeting us here, I don't want them anywhere near me." Emmett smirked at his daughter and replied, "You were the one who wanted to meet them, kiddo. Feeling scared?" Aurora glared at her father and said, "No, I just got an uneasy feeling that something bad is gonna happen. We should've brought Uncle Jasper." Edward chuckled and said to his niece, "While Jasper does have many good qualities, he wouldn't have been able to control his blood lust with all these humans around, darling. He's better back at home, keeping things in order." Aurora sighed and replied, "Still, I wish he was here. And don't call me that, Uncle Eddie, that's Uncle Jasper's nickname for me." Edward just smiled at his niece and rubbed her head, ruffling her hair. Aurora slightly giggled and shook her uncle's hands away. Carlisle chuckled at the two and said, "Alright, alright, you two. That's enough. We should get going. Aro said he was sending Jane and Dimitri to escort us at the baggage claim. Come along." Edward turned to follow his adoptive father, giving a wink to his niece. Aurora walked between her parents, with her father's arm around her shoulders, as they followed behind them.
The small group made their way to the baggage claim and received their luggage. After that, they waited outside of the sliding doors where passengers were picked up by other people. Aurora watched as different cars pulled in and drove off, her heart slightly racing when she thought that each car would be the Volutri. Then, after a few moments later of waiting, a big car pulled up to the group where two people came out of it after putting it in park. Aurora slightly moved towards her father, feeling nervous and scared. Emmett smiled softly to himself and placed himself in front of Aurora, feeling his protective side coming out. A young blonde woman walked over to the group, followed by a dark-haired young man. The blonde smugly smiled at the group and said to them, "You must be the Cullen's. We knew that you would surrender eventually." Carlisle just looked at the two with a stoic look and replied, "We're just here to end this feud once and for all. There is no need for the smugness. I take it that you're Jane?" The blonde nodded and said, "Yes, and you're Carlisle. *She then turned to the others, pointing out who was who* And you're Edward, the mind reader. *She then turned to Rosalie and Emmett, smirking at them* And you must be Rosalie and Emmett, the proud parents of the little brat we hear so much about." Emmett glared at the young woman who had called his daughter "brat" when she wasn't even one, as did Rosalie. Feeling insulted, Aurora came out from behind her father and stepped towards Jane. She sneered at the young woman and said, glaring at her fiercely, "I am not a brat! *She then smirked at the woman* I think a far worse word for you though, starts with a B.......ends with ch." Jane then looked at the girl with an angry look and was about to retort but Dimitri stepped in. Dimitri smiled evilly and said, pulling Jane away from Aurora who was pulled back by Emmett, "Alright, ladies, that's enough cat fighting. We should be going. Aro doesn't like to be kept waiting. You can put your luggage in the back." Aurora glared at Jane and said, "That's okay and all but I'm not sitting anywhere near her after she called me a "brat"." Rosalie said to her daughter, "You can sit between me and your father, Rory. Come on, I'll help you with your bag." Aurora followed her mother and replied, "I knew we should've brought Uncle Jasper, Scott, and Stiles. Scott wouldn't have allowed her to call me that. I'm the Luna of his wolf pack." Rosalie chuckled and said, "Just stay clear of her, sweetheart."
Once the luggage was put in the back of the car, the group got in the car. Jane and Dimitri sat the front, with Dimitri driving. Carlisle took the middle with Edward next to him and the family of three sat in the back row, with Aurora in the middle. During the ride, Aurora and her mother had looked on their phones about possible shopping areas whenever they got finished with this meeting with Volutri. Some time later, Dimitri had pulled off to the side of the road close to what seemed to be an ancient city. Aurora looked around in confusion and said, "Wait; why are we stopping?" Dimitri turned to the young girl and said, "This is where we go on foot. Aro doesn't like having vehicles or anything of human nature in the city. *He then smirked* Unless you can't make it up there?" Aurora glared at him and replied, "Just because I'm human, it doesn't mean that I can't make a few mile walk from here to the castle, jerkface. If my boyfriend was here, he'd make you regret saying that." Emmett smiled at his daughter and said to her, "It's okay, Aurora. You can ride on my back anyways." Then, everyone got out of the car and got their bags. Emmett crouched in front of his daughter and said, "Hold on tight, it's going to be a fast one." Aurora got onto her father's back, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. She then sent a menacing glare towards Dimitri's direction who only smirked smugly at her. If the girl had any vampire power or magic of some sort, she would've gladly used it on the smug idiot.
