Forbidden love

Apologies

As they approached Soren, they saw Claudia holding him crying. "Please!" She cried. "Forgive me! I know I've done bad things, but in your last moments, I ask you to forgive me Soren! I love you! Give me a sign! Please, any sign that you're alive! Please!" She sobbed into his shoulder.

"It's not his last moments!" Callum yelled. "But he's barely breathing!" Claudia responded. She set Soren down. Callum drew a rune Rayla had never seen him draw. Claudia seemed surprised. "Judus Caelo." He said. Soren gasped as his breath was cut short for an instant but then came flooding back to him. The gaping wound on his stomach had disappeared.

Claudia ran over and hugged Callum. "Thank you. Thank you so, so much! I don't think I could have lived my life knowing Soren was gone. I'm so sorry for everything I did. I only did it to keep what little was left of our family together. I couldn't lose Soren as I lost my mother. I couldn't lose Dad either, but now I see how cruel his actions were. I am so, so sorry."

"Claudia, I can't forgive you yet." Callum started. "I understand the reason, but I cannot forgive you. Soren was strong enough to leave Viren's side, and I understand if you weren't, but that is no excuse for your actions. I accept your apology, but you are not yet forgiven. You have to earn my trust back." He said finishing his thought.

"I'm sorry I let you down." Claudia said to Soren. To all of them. "I should have seen the evil rising in my father sooner, but I couldn't. I am truly, deeply sorry. I understand if you can't forgive me, but please, I beg of you, understand the reason for all of this. I couldn't lose my father. If he and I were the last of our family, I wouldn't let anything break us apart."

"But I was wrong." She continued. "I am so, so sorry." She fell to her knees upon finishing this sentence. Rayla knelt beside her. She never liked Claudia, but right then, She could feel nothing but empathy. She put her hand on Claudia's shoulder. Without looking up she knew it was Rayla. She could feel the odd feeling of a 4 fingered hand on her shoulder.

She looked up. Rayla was smiling at her. For the first time ever, Rayla smiled at her. Claudia's lip began to quiver as tears flooded her eyes once again. Soren, Rayla, and Callum all comforted her. Viren walked towards them. He knelt, pressed his hand against his heart and apologized.

It was the deepest apology Callum had ever heard. But Viren had done awful things. And no apology could change that. However, these words from Claudia and Viren... they were a start... to forgiveness.
