Chapter 16
Your eyes
RobinGrunting Robin pulled himself up on to another roof, his hands struggled to find a good grip in the darkness. They managed to wiggle the front of their shoes in a gap between some bricks took himself standing, after a moment of blindly feeling around his hand touches a boot.
"You alright there?" Atticus looking down him while Robin held onto the brick wall with his life "peachy" they replied trying to ignore just how high they were above sea level.
It took them the whole day to track down the nest and even longer to find the safest side to climb up without getting caught. Though to Robin there was no safe side.
"How can this thing even float?" Robin asked shivering as salty wind blew straight through his fancy outfit.
Atticus shrugged his guards uniform tight against his body, lucky him he didn't have to scale this thing in heels and had the most tactical outfit out of the three of them "come on slowpokes!" Linae shouted from three stories up.
Robin almost gagged looking at how high she was, Linae leaned off the side of one of the nests weirdly proportioned buildings allowing the right side of her body to dangle in the open air "maybe you should slow down! Some of us aren't built for this kind of stress" Robin shouted back watching Atticus easily lift himself up onto a window cell offering a gloved hand to them
"It's hard enough trying to do this with a bow and arrow down my pants" Robin accepted the hand, Atticus grinned pulling him up onto the next level
"try an axe next time!" Linae shouted digging hers into the side of the walls and using it as leverage "there's an idea you could use your arrows" Atticus stood cupping his hands around his mouth "Linae! Throws us the rope!" The red head mumbled something before tossing them a bundle of rope.
Robin realised Atticus' idea and pulled his bow out "here, if we tie this around an arrow and you managed to get it wedge up there you could climb using the rope" Robin wasn't so sure if that was more or less unstable then just climbing the building but decided to give it a shot.
Robin armed his bow and studied the side of the nest; it was by far the weirdest architecture they have seen. Made up of layers upon layers of houses, shacks, towers and entire buildings, it looked completely unstable and swayed in the oceans current and tough winds. It wasn't even a ship, more like a floating pile of trash.
"Surely this is held up by magic" Robin whispered, Atticus who was already climbing to the next level glanced up "I'm not sure, I honestly thought this place was a myth until now".
The night before Leo and his crew came busting into the meeting room rambling about an attack they had just on the outskirts of Arcons waters. Robin at first was more distracted by Jordan, they knew of her existence but never really realised how close he probably had been to her, after all they were both in Arcon around the same times. The other thing that caught Robin's attention was the mention of runaway Prince Darcy
"what of him?" Linae had asked the group now in one of Judith's large study's "he was also taken" Leo explained eyeing Abert
"what was he doing there? Shouldn't he be corrupting the throne with the other two musketeers?" Judith swatted Linae for her words
"he helped us" Jordan spoke, she'd been silent since she walked in.
Jordan sat on one of the couches with her eagle curled up in her lap, her bright blue eyes had a familiar pierce to them.
