It's disturbingly quiet when Linae opened the door; in complete contrast to the world outside, the room was made of dark wood and rotten smelling furniture. No longer the pristine regal temple she spent the worse half of her day wallowing in. Linae inspected the room with a wrinkled nose it was obvious people had used it before and this place wasn't exactly a five-star hotel either.
She was about to check beneath the bed when something moved quickly to her left and a chair came flying at her head. She ducked watching the legs shatter against the wall "that was a poor throw" she surveyed looking across the room at the prince.
Darcy had another raised over his head, his eyes widened slightly seeing Linae standing there but his white knuckled grip remained.
LWhat are you doing here?" He questioned watching her closely as she kicked at the broken chair absentmindedly "I'm here for you of course."
Like a riled cat Darcy stepped back raising the chair higher "why?"
Linae surged forward abruptly taking hold of the chair in Darcy's hand and twisting it. Darcy stumbled back mouth agape in silent shock, Linae set the chair down behind him letting the prince fall back onto the seat "you know most damsels in distress thank their rescuer" she remarked chuckling at her own words.
Darcy scowled up at her "why would I thank the woman that bought me?" It's Linae's turn to look surprised
"why the fuck would I buy you when I could just steal you?" She joshed shrugging off her coat and not so elegantly dumping it over Darcy's head "wear this or you'll freeze to death."
Darcy sputtered standing up from the chair and staring at the jacket in his hands like he's never seen one before "you're not here to kill me?" Linae cracked the door opened, the hallway was empty and quiet.
"No" she glanced back at him "lucky you" she opened the door wider and gestured for him to hurry up.
Darcy begrudgingly shrugged on the jacket and joined her at the door. Linae then began marching down hallways with swift feet turning the corners sharply like a bull chasing red, Darcy stumbled after spewing up questions "where are you taking me?" Linae didn't answer and dragged Darcy along by the wrist "you know I find it hard to believe you're not going to kill me.
Especially you're your track record" she groaned pulling Darcy to stand in front of her "gods kid I'm not here to kill you, I'm here on behalf of your friends to save you" this apparently wasn't what Darcy was expecting to hear.
His face scrunched up in a childlike frown "friends?" Linae could feel herself grow antsy as time ticked on "yes friends, the crew, Sebastian's little sister and that creepy bird."
She didn't give him time to come up with another question and began pulling him along again "let's focus on getting out of here alive."
