**Present day**

When Freen opened her eyes, it was 7 am she saw on her phone. On unlocking her screen she was faced with Billy's text again. Looks like she'd fallen asleep staring at it. Re-reading it on and on to let it sit with her heart.

Billy, her other best friend, Billy, her brother who would move mountains to make sure she was happy, to make sure she would always find a solution for her problems, Billy who made his family, Freen's family, and his home, Freen's home.

Freen locked the phone again and turned towards where Becky should have been sleeping. But found the space near her empty. She reached out to touch the sheets, they were cold.

Freen quickly sat up.

"Becky?" she called out. There was no response.

She got up quickly, went to the kitchen, Becky wasn't there, she ran upstairs towards their bedroom, calling out once more, no response, she found the bedroom door opened and stood in the doorway, Becky wasn't here, she checked the bathrooms, nothing.

The downstairs bathrooms too, were void of Becky, so she quickly dialed her number. Had she gone out?

It took a couple of rings but she picked up.

"Nong! Where are you?!" Freen asked as soon as she picked up.

"Phi..." she sounded choked, sad. Freen shouldn't be surprised.

"P'Freen, I'm sorry, I should have left a text or a note. I couldn't sleep." Becky said.

"Where are you?" Freen asked hurriedly, already looking for something presentable to wear to go get Becky.

"I'm at the cemetery... I left as soon as the sun was out... Phi... I couldn't... I can't... I don't know how to do this..." She was sobbing.

"Becky, stay right where you are. I'm going to be there in 15 mins, got that?" Freen said.

"Ka," Becky said.

When Freen arrived at the cemetery, she walked to the grave they were at just yesterday, to find Becky seated on the ground by Billy's grave. Freen took a deep breath.

This was tough on all of them. Coming here so soon after the funeral, it was hitting her all over again, with a fresh wave of emotions. But she tried to pull herself together, for Becky.

She walked on over and sat by her side. Becky had her arms folded across her stomach, seated with her legs crossed.

"Hey," Freen said.

"Hi," Becky spoke. "You didn't have to come." Becky said.

How was Freen supposed to explain, she couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now.

"I know." Was all she said, they sat there silently.

Both of them, just trying to allow themselves the moment to remember their Billy. A man they both love so much. What were they supposed to do with all this love?

It took a good 30 minutes until one of them spoke. It was Becky.

"I needed to feel close to him..." Becky admitted.

Freen exhaled heavily. She understood.

"He isn't here, nong.." Freen felt she needed to explain.

"I know. I just didn't know what else to do, where else to go." Becky said.

"He's with us. He really is. He's in everything we ever did together, he's in all of our memories, in the places we traveled to together, the concerts we went to together, every conversation we ever had, every person we ever met, he's left a piece of himself everywhere..." Freen was saying, and Becky was watching her talk with a black look in her eyes, staring ahead at the mud in the ground.
