Someone's finally awake.

Days turned to nights, the room was always buzzing with prayers, talks, doctors, and frequent visitors while the 8 never left the room.

Then one day, as some were eating, doing their homework, or just chatting, Sophie's eyes fluttered open. She looked around confused as to where she was or how she got there.

Parker noticed her awake and shouted her name. This alerted everyone who came running towards the bed, with tears in their eyes. (Jackie was the last one to arrive as she was texting Enzo) Sophie looked at everyone and asked weakly, "Where am I? How did I get here? Also, why are you guys crying? Did someone die?"

Brooke put her hand on Sophie's mouth quickly to stop her from speaking further while Hayley said, "No, but you almost did."

"Why, what happened?"

Everybody looked at one another. Parker asked, "How do you feel."

To an answer of, "Everything hurts. But you still haven't answered my question."

Max asked her, "What do you remember last?"

Sophie strained as she thought back to what happened, "I-I don't know. All I remember was that we all were gathered at the top of Ryan's crater. We were fighting. Did something happen then?"

Alex and Jackie told her what happened, with helpful input from the others. "We were on the cliff, fighting. Eagles vs Ravens as usual. You tried to create peace between us, stop the fight, but we didn't listen. If we did, none of this would have happened. Suddenly, we heard you scream and stopped only to see that you were hanging on the edge of the cliff. Daniel and Leo dived, grabbed your hand, and tried to pull you up while you tried to help as well, searching for footholds. But Leo and Daniel's hands got sweaty, and you slipped. You fell around 200 feet, Sophie, we thought we lost you."

Sophie, with a small smile on her face, said, "Oh! I knew I would never get the privilege of seeing the Eagles and Ravens together as one. I'm definitely in heaven."

Daniel pleaded, "Sophie this is not something to joke about."

Alex told her, "Please let us finish."

Sophie tried to raise her arms as if in a guilty position but couldn't. She told them, "Fine, sorry."

"All of us stood grounded, not knowing what to do. Then we descended expecting to find you.... no longer with us, but instead, we found that you had fallen on top of a thorny shrub. We started carrying you to the greenhouse when Louis came. He was honestly worried when he found out it was you. He went ahead to make arrangements while we slowly carried you uphill. Once we arrived, a few people placed you on a stretcher and you were brought here by helicopter. As soon as you were airlifted, we rushed to the hospital and stayed beside you. There were always frequent visitors but now, you woke up."

Not a word was said about Enzo.

"You scared us," Hayley admitted her voice a blend of concern and relief.

Sophie realized everybody in the room was tense so to lighten up the mood, managed a weak smile, her humor intact even in the face of adversity. "You know, I've always had a knack for the dramatic."

"Sophie, this is serious. We thought we really lost you. How can you even think of joking during a situation such as this?" Parker scolded her

Brooke's grip on Sophie's hand tightened, her voice filled with emotion. "We were so worried."

Sophie's fingers tightened around Brooke's, a silent affirmation of their bond. "I'm here," she whispered, her words a promise that reverberated through the room.

Leo spoke up, his voice full of misery and regret, "Sophie, I'm extremely sorry. I let my anger get the best of me and I attacked you for telling me what to do. I didn't realize at that time that it was good cap bad cap. I was the bad captain while you were the good one. If I hadn't, you wouldn't have been in this situation. Because of me, you're going through pain that most people will never go through. I know it will take a long time but please forgive me."

Sophie spoke up, "Dude, Leo, chill. It's neither your fault nor anybody else's. It was written in my destiny, and you can't change fate. But it's all over now. As you can see, I'm not dead. I'm living, breathing, and enjoying my.... second.... chance at life. And there is nothing to forgive if there was never a grudge. But don't worry, you won't be able to get rid of your enemy so easily."

Leo spoke up, "You aren't my enemy, Sophie, and never were. But honestly speaking, I didn't want the Eagles to win and was willing to do anything to ensure that. But now, after everything happened, I realized letting your opposition win is better than losing your friend forever.

Parker then spoke, "I told you Soph. I knew something was going to happen on that day. I told you about that horrible feeling and it came true."

Sophie painfully raised her hands with a weak mock smile, "Ok, fine. You win. You were right, I was wrong. Happy now?"

She then complained, "This bed is killing me. I don't want to lie around all day." which brought a smile to Leo and Parker.

Alex scolded her, "Sophie, please chill. Have you seen yourself? You are fully punctured, landing on a thorny bush. You won't be able to leave this bed any time soon"

Sophie gave up, "Fine. But can you at least make it sit up, please?"

Hayley and Max adjusted the backside to make it half-sit-half-sleep. Sophie looked around at her friends who cared so much about her, who nearly died because they thought she was dead.

Suddenly three doctors came to finally see their patient awake. They did some tests on her and told everyone to 'Give Sophie space and not be crowded around her.'

Everybody thanked the doctor but how could they leave their friend who had woken up after 10 days? They took a few steps back but continued talking, telling her everything.
