The Fight

But fate rarely conforms to plans. There was a fight between the Eagles and Ravens, verbal and fist. Sophie, being the Eagles captain, stood in the center of it all, trying to stop it. "Stop Leo! Daniel, as your captain, I command you to go back! You both are fighting like small kids!" She looked around, "IS NOBODY GONNA STOP FIGHTING?!?!"

Leo retorted, "I'M THE RAVENS CAPTAIN. YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" He stepped forward to attack her, but she stepped back. That one step turned out to be the worst decision as she dangled over the edge of the cliff, desperately hanging on to a jutting rock for sheer life.

Everybody stopped as they heard her scream. Brooke and Parker screamed her name. Brooke held Alex's hand, their connection a silent reassurance. Jackie offered solace to Hayley, who trembled with concern while poor Max almost fainted.

From above, her friends, those steadfast constellations, leaped into action. Daniel and Leo stretched out their arms, desperation etched across their faces as they attempted to catch her. She got a hold of their hands, but as desperation sets in, the thing that you depend on the most starts panicking. Leo and Daniel's hands became sweaty. "Sophie, hold on, please!" Leo's voice quivered a desperate beg.

Time stretched, a suspenseful eternity before she finally lost her grip on them. The forest held its breath as if the very trees mourned her fall, their leaves ruffling in sympathy.
