The second day of living in the old cottage started with the sun peeking through my windows. It glowed brighter than I thought it should and I was tempted to pull the sheets over my head and fall back asleep, but the memory of an overgrown farm and seeds to be planted forced me out of bed. I decided to head outside to at least wake my self up properly.

Before I could even get out of the house I noticed a package and two letters on my doorstep. I took the package and letters inside and put them on the cluttered kitchen table on top of the half-opened moving boxes and my supplies. I decided to heat up the oatmeal and put on the TV to hear the news (not that there was much happening in this small town).

I opened the package first, Inside of it was fifteen parsnip seeds. The letter that was attached to it was from the Mayor saying that it was to help me "start off my farm" and that the tools should be delivered and if not I could go to the Mayors Manor to pick them up. "Little to late, Mayor." I muttered thinking about all the money I had just spent on getting parsnip the other night. The other letter was from some fisherman named Willy saying he had something for me at the shore. I threw all the letters away and put the seeds on the kitchen counter.

Willy would have to wait for tomorrow because if my tools were here I had clear out the farm, It was struggle enough getting through all the weeds, I might have half-decent stamina but I doubted I would have enough energy after clearing everything out and planting the crops.

I exhaled with exhaustion of just thinking about it and went back to preparing my oatmeal. The oatmeal didn't taste as good as my dad's but it wasn't horrible to eat, It would get me until lunch at least. I cleared up my area and put my only bowl into the sink to clean out later and got on farming clothes, A simple off-white t-shirt and loose green pants with patches sewn into them with some work boots so I wouldn't cut off my foot or something else stupid while hoeing the fields.

I grabbed all my seeds and headed outside observing the field to see what I was working with. It wasn't in to bad shape all things considered, but it was clear it hadn't been tended to in a long time. The grass was up to my waist and logs and scattered stones blocked almost every path, There were even some boulders, logs and stumps blocking some exits.

The farm itself was beautiful though, trees expanded over the forest property and small little ponds and lakes were scattered throughout the farm, But I could tell from here that most of them were probably filled with trash.

I checked around the cottage for any tools, and to my slight surprise the supplies were relatively new looking. I picked up the hoe and watering can after deciding they would be the most useful. I headed towards the front of my house and walked a few paces away from the entrance and started sowing land in a square of 3x3 leaving one space in the middle for a sprinkler if I could find any, Hazy memories told me the farmer used to have some but I doubt they're laying around anywhere or if they even work anymore if they were. Soon enough all my plants were in the ground and I was starting to pick up all the loose logs and stone, placing the stones in a big wooden box near the entrance of my house not knowing what else to do with them. I decided to keep most the logs in case I could build anything out of them and for kindling when it got colder in the year.

I smiled with half-hearted content, it was over for the most part, I even managed to pluck up the energy to clear out most the fiber that was overgrowing on the farm, though I kept around forty pieces in case I needed them for anything remembering that Fiber was used to make a type of wool-like material that could be spun into Cloth or Yarn . With that I yawned and decided a mid day nap did not sound like the worst thing in the world at the time.

I started to head back to my house through the newly-cleared farm property but before I could I found myself slowly
