"Ah! Such a lovely night!"
Yui never had the chance to take a walk through the woods like that: alone and at such a late hour.
While the thought had crossed her kind many times, she wasn't ignorant of the dangers the trees and the shadows were hiding, like hungry predators, the deadly cold of the night and the chance to get easily lost.
"Well... I shouldn't worry about the last part anyway."
Even if she hadn't been a "ghost", the vampires would have found her pretty easily if she had gotten lost in the wood before (and would have probably gave her a good punishment for all the troubles), when she still had the hope to run away and go back to her father. For them, to find their favorite toy was as easy as stealing candies from a kid, they would always find her every time she hoped to be left alone for a bit, appearing in every room she was in like they were called in by something.
Obviously the girl lost her hopes in the chance of having a bit of privacy long ago.

<< It's been so long since I had so much time for myself... oh? >>

Her eyes landed on a small furry creature peeking out from the tall grass, a rabbit.

<< Aw cute! Do you see it Del-oh, right. >>

The girl let out a small sigh, recalling the moment her friend went after what remained of Azusa's long lost innocence.

<< I guess it's just you and me, little bunny. >>

Smiled Yui getting closer to the rabbit.
The animal turned to her direction, moving it's nose and staring at her like it could actually see her.

<< Oh yes, you animals can sense things. Right? >>

Offering her hand to the rabbit, she waited patiently for it to get closer enough to "touch", feeling a strange sensation on her fingers, like she was brushing against a fabric so soft it was made of cloud.
But just as it got closer, the rabbit ran away at the sound of steps.

<< Mh? >>

Ayato and Laito came in sight.
Yui felt a chill running down her spine and for a moment she felt the need to hide, quickly reminding herself that they couldn't see her and that she was safe.

<< Do you think Yui's still alive? >>

Asked Laito.

<< Knowing our mother, I doubt it will take her that long to keep her body permanently and I can't imagine what she'll do to her soul. >>
<< Oh, I'm sure she's fine. That bitch prefers to keep her toys alive for long. >>

The girl would have loved to scream at the two brothers, but she couldn't, standing still as the two vampires walked past her, with Ayato going literally through her as he suddenly stopped to turn around and look at her spot with surprise.

<< Ayato? What's wrong? >>
<< I... felt something strange. >>

Said the boy touching his body like he was checking for marks or wounds.
"Interesting..."
Yui looked down at her hands, then went near Laito and carressed his cheek, making the vampire jump back in surprise as he touched his own face.

<< You felt it too? >>
<< Yeah... >>

It felt strange to see them like that.
The brothers weren't scared, but they clearly felt uncomfortable and quickly decided to move on.

<< Let's go, we need to warn those four bastards and take Chichinashi's body back. >>
<< You're right, I'm honestly looking forward to meeting our dear mom. >>

Laito's grin promised no good intentions and the girl knew she had to run back and warn her friend.
She just hoped the brothers weren't going to use their supernatural speed to soon.
