Exusiai hummed a tune that Sora made a long time ago. She was in a van driving along Lungmen, with her fellow coworkers/close friends.
Texas, Lappland, and Sora.
Croissant and Bison were at the safehouse in the north side of the city.
They had completed all their deliveries for the night, and they went back to the safe house after grabbing some food.
Lappland was napping, the white Lupo's swords tapping against her backseat while Exusiai's gun rested just at her side, after putting it into a case to keep it nice and clean.
Texas was driving, tapping along to a song that was playing, which was made by Sora. The aforementioned Idol was also asleep, but she had her headphones on, listening to some of her works.
"Mhmm..." Exusiai began, reaching into a bag and taking out a snack, "Yummy~" she cheered as she starts chewing on the candied treat.
Texas glanced her ways or a second, before turning her eyes back to the road, as some people got onto the Highway and began driving alongside or in front of the girls. "Last delivery of the night is at the next exit," the Lupo stated, "Once that is accomplished, then we can begin heading back and we can rest."
"Thank the Lord!" Exusiai cheered, quickly finishing her snack. She sat up straight and began to tidy herself up, her wings fluttering and her Halo still a golden glow.
"Where's our last delivery?" Exusiai ordered, cause depending on the area, she would get her weapon out because of the danger.
"Ehhh..." Texas began, "Somewhere around the financial district, you don't need to worry about getting jumped."
Exusiai giggles, "Alright Tex~" The van began to head down the exit and made their way to the apartment building that had a delivery issued to them. Parking he vehicle outside, Texas let Exusiai get out and start bringing the box up.
Lappland was about to get up, when Texas softly said, "We aren't back at a safe house yet," and that is when the Lupo just went back to sleeping. Texas shook her head as she turned to the radio.
The station was playing the same song again and she hummed in annoyance.
She decided to go and start messing with the dials and buttons, perhaps she could listen to something new.
She started reaching a frequency of 107.7, and that is when she started hearing something. They sounded like voices, Columbian voices. "...is at 2nd base..."
That is when she was reminded that not too long ago, Columbia just launched something off world of Terra called a Satellite.
They said that soon, they can allow broadcasts to reach around the world.
She began to wonder if she caught on to a sports broadcast, as she hears a lot of terminology that Cuora used whenever she was deployed with the turtle girl.
Baseball, that's what it was.
She hasn't been catching up with the game ever since she started working for Penguin Logistics, so it wouldn't hurt for her to listen to the old pastime.
"And there it goes! 23 got the ball soaring to the left field- Awh its a foul!" Texas chuckles as she starts chewing the candy that the Doctor gave her, sighing with a fondness that she rarely ever displayed.
"Aww what's got you smiling like that?" Questioned Exusiai. The Angel have arrived, the package she was carrying gone.
Texas shook her head, "it's nothing..."
The radio continued to play the game, and Exusai smiled,"Ahh you're finally listening to something other than Sora's songs?" She sat down and bucked up, causing Texas to start warming up the van.
"Mhmm... and I think I caught a Columbian Baseball channel," Exusiai raised an eyebrow.
"Isn't Lungmen a long ways away from Columbia?" Texas raised her mouth to start trying to explain.
"Remember what happened at Rhine Labs that Ms. Sawyer was excited to get on the news about?" The Angel nodded.
"Well this is somewhat related to it."
"Ahh... that satellite? Really?" Texas nodded as they got back onto the highway. "That's so cool!"
As they drove along, they kept listening to the baseball game. It was nice and peaceful within the van.
They were just talking about what's going to be happening for the rest of the night, to the voices of radio announcers talking about Columbia's-
"...And that does it for the San Francisco Giants!" Texas paused her conversation and so did Exusiai. "They got a win against the Washington Congressmen and they are expected to move to a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers!"
"That is all for tonight folks, thank you all for joining for America's great national pastime. Drive home safely and Good Night!" And that is when the voices were Chan ged for some music and what sounds like advertisements.
"What just.." Texas began, shaking her head and rubbing her ears, "Did I..."
"No no...," Exusuai began, looking at the Radio strangely, "You weren't the only one who heard that..." The 2 remained silent, as Texas went to focus on the road again, turning off the radio.
They arrived at the safe house, causing Sora to slowly awake from her slumber. "Awh..." she lets out in a yawn, "Are we finally back...?"
Texas nodded, causing the Angel to smile and turn to their Idol, "Ready to go watch some movies girls?" She cheered. Lappland woke up immediately, and started to head in after grabbing her swords.
"I get a spot near Texas!" The Lupo shook her head, exasperated. She goes and grabs her candies as Exusiai goes and helps a very tired Sora. The Angel looked back at Tex with an expression that said, later, we will discuss what just happened...
That is when Texas took a breath, turned off her Van, and began to get out, joining the girls for some much needed rest.
She knows that for some, that's not exactly possible.
But she wasn't that some, and she was going to enjoy that.
