"Are you ready? Let's go, Cari," Selena complains, as I try to fix my hair one last time. We are going out tonight to a party, something I haven't done in quite some time. I would be lying if I said I wasn't kind of excited.

"Okay, okay, stop rushing me!" I reply, heading towards the door where I know Selena is left waiting. My phone begins ringing, and I decline the call, knowing that it was Taylor, as usual. I still won't answer her, even if I have hard nights.

"Finally," she sighs, rolling her eyes at me. We head outside, hopping into the back seat of a car being driven by security. We both get situation, and my phone begins ringing again. I pull it out of my pocket this time, and as I assumed, it is still Taylor. I decline the call again.

"Is she still calling you?" Selena asks, looking over my shoulder at my phone. I let out a sigh.

"She is, but I haven't answered. I haven't talked to her since she showed up at my hotel room," I inform her. Taylor has been a touchy subject, something Selena and I have not talked about since that same day.

"Haven't you tortured her enough, Cari? Why won't you at least text her?" Selena asks, her voice sounds concerned.

"Selena, we are not talking about this. We are supposed to have a good night," I shake my head, complaining. I don't want to ruin my night out before we even get to the bar. Thinking of Taylor always makes my nights go wrong.

"I think you need to talk about this, you're obviously still not okay. She isn't either, you know," Selena speaks softly, "She isn't a horrible person. She loves you, and you should give her that chance,"

"Selena, tonight is not the night to talk about this," I say firmly, ending the conversation. She rolls her eyes at me, as the car comes to a stop outside one of the bars here in L.A. We both get out of the car and are led to the front doors. We walk in together, finding a place to sit at the bar.

We order our drinks, both paying for them, and downing them pretty quickly. There are quite a few people here, it's definitely been a long time since I have gone to one of these things. I look around, recognizing some of the people here, including some of Taylor's friends.

"She isn't here," Selena speaks up from besides me, probably watching me look around.

"You're sure?" I ask, almost nervously. I really don't want to run into her. I continue scanning the room. This is exactly something she would show up at.

"Yes, I'm sure. I have her location," Selena says, and I nod in response, "You know, if you want to get over her so badly, you should stop searching for her face in crowds of people," she says slyly. I shake my head.

"Shut up, let's go dance or something," I suggest, finishing off my drink and standing up from where I was seated. She stands up too, finishing off her drink and placing it on the bar. We head to the dance floor.

I will say, hanging out with Selena is fun. I really do enjoy her company. We dance for quite a while, laughing and singing along to the songs we knew. Though, I quickly exhausted myself, and we agree to head back to the bar for a drink, and to cool down for a bit before heading back over there. The bartender hands our drinks fairly quickly.

"Cari?" I hear my name being called, by an all too familiar voice, along with footsteps approaching us. My eyes go wide as I turn to look at Selena, she looks just as surprised as I am. I quickly stand up, ready to walk away, but Selena grabs my arm.

"You have tortured her and yourself for long enough," Selena speaks quietly in my ear, "You need to stop avoiding and face your issues. At least get some closure," I shake my head, "Sit down, and have a drink," she commands, and I sit back down, knowing that Taylor is on the stool next to me, as I can smell her perfume, "I'm going to go to the bathroom, you can do this," she speaks reassuringly, before walking away.
