***The 1st Of July***

"I'll get you back to me soon."

The words of his father had been disturbing Adrien for the past week, a feeling of dread that he couldn't quite shake only calmed by the touch of Marinette.

"Soon." Adrien mumbles the word as he stares down at the pink fluffy rug underneath his bare feet.

"What?" Marinette pokes her head out through the cracked open bathroom door, brushing her teeth as lady-like as she can, her eyes widening when a bit of toothpaste falls onto her pajama top. "Dang it."

"You feeling okay, Princess?" Adrien asks her, looking at her with concern. Today marks the third day, in a row, that she's been running into the bathroom right after waking up. What she does in there isn't hard for him to guess, and though he tries to help her, to hold her hair back for her, she always demands for Tikki to keep the door locked so that she can be by herself.

She sighs in reply, looking down with a bit of worry before lightly shaking it off with a smile.

"Peachy." She jokes, finishing her teeth brushing and putting everything away before leaving the bathroom.

"Maybe we should go to the hospital..?" Adrien suggests for the second time this day, walking toward her and putting a hand on her shoulder comfortingly.

"I already said no!" Mari huffs, clearly not wanting to have the conversation again. She shrugs his hand off, trying her best to ignore his sad gaze.

"Mari, you're not acting like yourself." He sighs, hoping she'll listen. "You've been randomly feeling sick throughout the past few days, I'm concerned!"

"There's nothing to be concerned about! I'm Ladybug, I got this!" She narrows her eyes at him as he frowns.

"..You really won't listen, huh?" He says with defeat, crumbling her resolve.

"I.. I just—Not yet, okay?" She says softly, obviously feeling guilt with how she's treating him.

"Okay.. I'll be patient." He smiles down at her, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"Thank you." She whispers, leaning in to his touch.

"Mari!" Alya calls out from the living room, obviously heading towards the trapdoor to burst into her bestie's room and most likely unaware of Adrien's presence.

"Ah, right on queue." Adrien chuckles, wanting nothing more than to put a heavy object on that door so that Alya can't come in.

He didn't know how to feel about Alya and Nino for a while after their confrontation, but thankfully it was never brought up again. Still, he worries that his friends might catch on to his secret.

"Go put your shirt on." Marinette giggles, already walking towards the trapdoor to open it for her bestie.

"Hey! Kisses first!" Adrien slightly whines, not letting go of Marinette's hand as she tries to walk away from him. "Please?" He blinks innocently at her with a pout.

"Fine," She sighs with a smile, "One kiss."

"Girl, you would not believe the latest news!" Alya says as she opens the trapdoor, closing it behind her before finally looking up to see Marinette and Adrien sharing a simple, loving kiss. She shakes her head at them with a smile before taking a picture of the two.

"Alright, alright. Let her breathe, damn." Alya jokes, putting her bag down and sitting at the desk. "You guys have to check this out!"

They finally break from their kiss, a smile on both their lips as they watch Alya type away on the keyboard. Marinette takes Adrien's hand before walking towards Alya, giggling when he pouts and follows."Your typing skills?" Marinette guesses, making Alya struggle to not laugh as she tries being serious.
