'Don't you dare stop running!' I screamed to myself. My blood roared in my ears and I struggled to breathe.
'Go! Go! Go!' I ran even faster, pushing myself beyond I thought I was capable of doing. I'm not too sure how long I had been running for, but I just had to get away from them. Feeling a little more safer I slowed down my pace.
'Oh no!' I thought to myself. I realized I wandered into this pack's territory without thinking. Yes, you heard me correctly, I said pack. I am what people call a werewolf. No, werewolves weren't huge scary bloodthirsty monsters who turned on full moons. Us werewolves are quite normal despite the fact we can shift, and have inhuman strength. Most of us live in pack houses with children, and all our pack mates, and yes us 'beasts' have kids. I had a pack until my mate- whom I might add is a beta, which is a second in command wolf, rejected me. Why? I wish I knew myself, but it sure did break my heart when he said those words. So, I ran away, I didn't have anything there anyway. I wasn't a favorite amongst the other wolves. After the Alpha realized I was gone, he sent out the guards after me, hence why I am running. Now, I'm in God knows where in a random pack's territory. I began to go a bit faster until I saw three wolves burst out from the bushes and form a circle around me.
'Well, isn't this just great' I thought. I froze in my tracks and the three wolves shifted back to human form.
"Shift, now." ordered one of them. Dang, he was gorgeous. Brown hair, greenish-blue eyes, he has a nice tan, and a great body.
My wolf's voice, Angel, chimed in my head. 'He's not even as close as attractive as our mate.'
'Oh shut up Angel, he rejected us, or do you not remember?' I retorted, and blocked all further communication with her. I did what he said and shifted back. We are in fact clothed when we change back.
"What do you think you are doing on our territory?" He demanded.
"Uh, s-sorry, i'm just passing through, I mean no harm." I stuttered.
"Yeah, right. That's what they all say." He said angrily. Did he just accuse me of lying? How dare he!
"I'm serious! I didn't know this was anyone's territory until I was on it! Look, I'll be going now, sorry for the trouble."
He chuckled. "If you think I'm going to just going to let you leave you've got another thing coming for you. You're coming with me to speak with our Alpha." As soon as he finished that sentence I shifted and bolted away as fast as my legs could go. It wasn't long after when the sound of paws hit the ground, and with a wave a terror I realized I couldn't outrun these guys. All of a sudden I was knocked off the ground and slammed into the ground. A whine escaped my lips as my head hit the hard earth. One of them was pinning me down, growling. I struggled to break free, but I couldn't wiggle out from under him. Hey, he was really heavy!
"Now, let's do this again okay?" He said, irritated.
I growled and shook my head 'no'.
"Come on girl, I'm getting mad now, please just cooperate?" He pleaded. I sighed and and shifted back, still feeling the pressure of the wolf still on me.
"Get off me now!" I snapped. Finally, the pressure lifted and I could breathe right again. I slowly got to my feet, irritated.
"That's better, come on." I was led to the pack house and after a short walk we had arrived. It was a very large house, and I stared in awe at the sight of it. I heard a laugh from behind me.
"It's great isn't it?" He asked amused. I nodded my head and followed him to the house, the other two wolves left so it was just He and I. We made it to an oakwood door and he knocked on the door.
"Yes? Come in." A deep voice said softly from the other side. I gulped and walked behind him as we made our way to the room. A man who looked to be in his late 30's sat in a chair behind a desk. The man had chocolate brown messy hair and hazel eyes. You would never guess he was an Alpha from the way he spoke.
"Hello, Cody, and who might this be?" The Alpha asked. Oh, so his name is Cody.
Cody bowed his head in respect, smiling. "This young lady was seen trespassing on our land, so we caught her in case she was a spy or something." I frowned. It's not like I meant to trespass, it was a total accident!
The Alpha sensed my discomfort and he smiled. "Don't worry, I won't harm you, I just need to ask you some questions, that's all." he paused for a second and looked at Cody. "Thank you Cody, you're dismissed." Cody looked as if he was going to protest, but simply nodded and walked out of the room. The Alpha tuned back to face me. "So, miss.. uh.."
"I'm Alaska, Alpha.."
"I'm Kyle."
My lips rose to a smile. "You were saying?"
Alpha Kyle laughed. "So, Alaska, what brought you to the Dark Moon's territory?" A lump caught in my throat. The Dark Moon pack was the most powerful pack in the United States. Which means I am in Montana. My home was in Minnesota. Did I really travel all that way? Alpha Kyle's clearing of the throat brought me back to reality.
"Well, I was running from my old pack's guards.." I began. After a couple minutes I finished my story of what happened.
Alpha Kyle's face was full of understanding. "Well.." He began. I crossed my fingers hoping he would let me go. Alpha continued. "You have two choices. One, you leave my territory forever, or Two, you stay and become a member of our pack."
I froze and was almost certain my mouth was hanging wide open. "I-I don't know what to say!"
"Take your time" Alpha chuckled.
"Of course I'll join!" I exclaimed excitedly with an uncontrollable smile spread across my face.
"Well then, Alaska, welcome to the Dark Moon pack."
"Thank you Alpha." Wow, me? A member of the Dark Moon pack? I guess this is a new start. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
