It's been two months since Angel left, and things were as hard as ever. I've fallen behind in training, and I've been called weak by many of the other wolves. Alpha Kyle still hasn't given up on me yet though. He still thinks of me as the same Beta he appointed all those years ago. Maddie and Cody's relationship is as strong as ever. I envy them. Brad has been on my mind all the time, and the more I think of him, the more hatred I feel. He isn't going to get away with this. I vow that he will pay for everything he's done. He may not know it, but I'm coming for him. First, I need to talk to Alpha Kyle so he can arrange an attack. I walk over to his office and knock on the oak door.

"Come on in" Alpha Kyle says from behind the door.

I enter the door and sit in the chair across from his desk. "Good morning Alpha, I have some things I would like to discuss with you." I say calmly.

"Yes? What is it Alaska?"

I take a deep breath. "Well, I would like to discuss Brad.." and I began to discuss my plan.

"Absolutely not Alaska." Alpha Kyle says sternly. The entire time I explained my plan, he just shook his head. So this answer wasn't surprising. Still, I'm not going to give up this easily.

"Why not?! With all due respect Alpha you're being quite unfair!" I wailed. Okay, so I could have handled that more maturely.

"I'm not being unfair Alaska, I'm being reasonable. Picking a fight with another pack isn't smart at all!" Alpha said annoyed.

"Alpha, I'm going to do this. With or without you." I declared.

Alpha Kyle was getting angry now. His wolf didn't like to be defied. "Alaska, I said no. Now quit your arguing. It's getting you no where."

"Kyle, I'm sorry, but I'm going no matter what y-" All of a sudden I was slammed into a wall by an angry Alpha. His eyes were now completely black, meaning his wolf, Alex, was now in full control of his body. That wasn't good.

"If you defy me again, I will not hesitate to punish you." Alex growled. You see, when an Alpha's wolf takes over, the wolf's soul takes the place of your soul.

I got lucky this time. If Alex wanted to, he could hurt me for defying what he said. I was let off too easy this time. "Yes Alpha." I muttered. Kyle was now back in control, and he shoved me away and told me to leave. Angry with his decision, I bolted out, taking my wolf form once I reached outside.

I ran in the forest until I stumbled upon the waterfall I would the day before Angel left. Thinking of Angel my heart began to hurt. I missed her so much. Life wasn't the same anymore without her. Sure, we fought a lot and disagreed with each other, but she was still a part of me. I lyed down by the lake, resting my paws on my head. Cody's voice cut into my head, and he sounded terrified.

"Alaska?! Where are you?!" he yelled.

"Relax Cody, I'm by the waterfall." I lazily replied.

"Alaska, hurry! We're under attack!"

I shot up and ran to the pack house as fast as my legs would go. Finally, I reached the pack house and heard the sounds of growls, whimpers, and screams. My head whipped from side to side until I spotted two enemy wolves circling around a young boy. I growled and launched at one of the wolves. I knocked the wolf off of his feet, making him yelp in surprise. He snapped at my throat, but I had him immobilized. I snarled and bared my teeth before lunging at his neck. My jaws locked around his neck, and he struggled to get free. Unfortunately for him my grip was too strong, and his struggling got slower and slower until finally he stopped altogether. I got up from the lifeless wolf and looked around for my next opponent. Before I knew it a she-wolf knocked into my side, stunning me for just a second. I growled and we circled each other, waiting to see who would lunge first. It didn't take long for her to attack, and I quickly side stepped away from her, leaving her to trip on her paws. I took this as an opportunity to attack, and I lunged at her, biting hard into the shoulder when I reached her. She yelped, and howled in pain, then took off, accepting defeat.

"Cody, where are you?!" I screamed through mind-link.

"I'm okay Alaska, but I can't find Maddie! She's hurt! I can feel her pain! Please, help me find her!" he pleaded.

"We'll find her, I promise. She couldn't have gotten far." I assured him.

My conversation was cut short when two wolves burst out of no where, circling around me. I can take one, but two? I snarled at them, and they immediately sensed my discomfort. They squinted their eyes as if to mock me, and lunged. I prepared myself for them, but they never came. I looked up to see Maddie taking on both of them at once. I immediately lunged for one and we fought side by side.

"You couldn't have done a better entrance then that, Maddie." I praised.

"What would you even do without me, sis?" she said triumphantly.

I delivered a powerful bite to the wolf's hind leg, and he howled in pain, struggling to his feet before limping off as fast as he could. A voice yelled out through the clearing "RETREAT!" and quickly all the attackers scattered off, yelping like puppies. I howled out in triumph and the rest of the pack joined in. Our celebration was cut short when a ear-piecing scream ran out, echoing through the forest. I quickly bolted to the site of the scream. A young girl was crouched over a body of a man. At first I couldn't see, but when the girl moved, a very bloody Alpha came into full view.

"NO! ALPHA!" I screamed.

"A..A..Alaska." Kyle gurgled out. "Please... Take care... Of the pack..."

"Alpha no! You're going to be okay! You can't die!" I wailed. Tears were rushing down my face now, and I didn't care if everyone was watching.

Kyle chocked out a laugh. "Such a..a determined one.. It's my time now Alaska." he barely whispered out. Then, with a gurgle, he struggled out his last breath and forever closed his eyes.

"NO!" I howled. 'I'm going to find out who did this! They will suffer!"

Cody rushed over to my side and pulled me into an embrace. "Shhh, Alaska, it'll be okay"

"No it won't." I screamed. My sobbing was becoming uncontrollable, and I began to hyperventilate.

"Alaska. Stop now." Cody commanded.

"Shut up Cody! Just shut up! Leave me alone! Don't you get it? Kyle was like my father!"

Cody's eyes hardened, but were quickly filled with understanding. "Yes, Alpha."

"Please, don't call me that."

"It's who you are now, Kyle is gone. You must take his place."

I realized Cody was right. I am Alpha now and right now I really needed to act like it. I stood up, wiping the tears from my eyes. "Kyle's death will not have been done in vain. We will find who did this and make them pay. Kyle is gone, but he is not forgotten." I declared. With one last look, I ordered a funeral to be arranged for him, and walked away with watery eyes.
