Chapter 6: Another Chance

"Hello, Alaska. Great to see my mate alive and well." Brad said smirking.

Brad?! What in Goddess's name is he doing here! No. No this cannot be happening right now. He can't be back. I was free. I hate him for what he's done, but why do i feel a bit happy to see him? I shook my head. No. I will not think like that. Ever.

"Lost for words babe?" Brad laughed.

"I am NOT your 'Babe' so do not call me that ever again." I growled.

"Ooh feisty. You've changed a lot babe." Again with the babe. Really? He has no right to call me that, especially after what he's done. He began to take a step forward when Cody's warning growl stopped him. I put my hand in the air, signaling him it's okay. Wait, okay? What's wrong with me?! Get a grip of yourself Alaska!

"What do you want Brad?" I snapped impatiently. The last thing I wanted was to deal with this right now.

"I'm here to bring my Luna home." He stated confidently.

"Never in a million years. If you haven't noticed this is my pack. I'm taking care of it. Now leave."

He shook his head in disbelief. "This is your pack? How did you manage to do that? You're weak Alaska, and you always have been."

Ouch. That stung coming from my mate- er ex-mate. I scoffed. "You don't know anything about me." I spat. I was getting angry now. There is a plus side of losing Angel, I don't have to fight for control anymore. Still, everything else is bad. Thinking of Angel made me remember it was his fault, and made me even angrier. A laugh erupted from Brad and I realized I was clenching my fists to my sides, knuckles bone white.

"Oh babe, you're adorable. Now let's go." Brad said through a series of laughter.

My face turned bright red from embarrassment and I looked down. "Get out." I said quietly.

Brad's laughter stopped. "Huh babe? I missed that."

"I SAID GET OUT!" I roared. I'm tired of all of this. I just want him to leave.

Brad seemed taken aback from my outburst, but quickly recovered. "I like it here Babe, I think I'll stay."

"If you don't leave I won't hesitate to make you leave." I warned.

Brad grimaced. "I'd rather you not touch me with those filthy hands of yours. You disgusting pig."

I mentally winced at his harsh words, but shook my head. "Oh I wouldn't be the one to touch you. I wouldn't want to get any disease your pathetic body has."

"This isn't over Alaska, I'll be back." he said, knowing he's clearly lost. "Oh, but Alaska, don't think I don't know about Angel's disappearance. I mean I don't blame her, you are awful."

I stood there gaping at him. "How did you know about that!" I demanded.

He laughed. "I have a very reliable source in this pack. You should really be careful who you trust."

"Get out." I said again.

"Will do Babe. Oh, but I will be back." and with one last laugh he shifted and bolted out of our pack.

Cody came up to me, but I held my hand up. "Don't" I warned.

"Alaska, are you-"

I cut Cody off. "Don't ask if I'm okay. You know the answer."

Cody sighed. "We have to figure out who's been telling the other pack information."

I nodded my head and turned away to go to my office. Why did this happen? My life was awful enough, why did Brad need to show up and make matters worse? Once I reached my office I sat down and buried my face in my hands, and began to cry. Before I knew it, darkness surrounded me as I drifted off to sleep.

-The Next Day-

"Alaska, wake up. You fell asleep." Maddie's voice said.

"Noooooooooo Maddie go awayyyyy" I whined, elongating a couple words.

Maddie giggled. "Come on sleepy head. It's eleven in the morning."

My head shot up, colliding with Maddie's face. "Ouch." I groaned.

"OWWWW ALASKA!" Maddie yelled.

"WHY DID YOU HAVE YOUR FACE SO CLOSE?!" I screamed.

"YOU'RE DUMB" Maddie roared, but the twinge of amusement in her voice told me she was joking.

"NO YOU'RE DUMB FOR GETTING SO CLOSE TO MY FACE!" I yelled. A few moments of silence and I lost it. I burst into a fit of laughter, tears rushing down my face. Maddie soon joined in with me and we both laughed together until we couldn't any longer.

"Ouch, my sides hurt" she whined.

"Oh you poor baby" I cooed.

"Ah, shut up Alaska, don't make me laugh again" Maddie said pouting.

"So is it really eleven?" I asked. It was the middle of the afternoon last time I remembered.

"Yeah, it's close to twelve now though I'm sure."

"Okay, I'm up, be down in a second."

Maddie walked toward the door. "See you later sis." and left.

I got up and went to my room and showered.

"Alaska? Can you come outside for a second?" Cody's voice cut in through mind-link.

I sighed. "Yes, I'll be there in a second." I swear if this is Brad again, I will kill him. After drying myself and putting on clothes I ran downstairs making my way to the front door. Cody ran up to me as soon as I came outside.

"This young man was caught on our territory." Cody said.

I took a look over my shoulder and saw a young man who looked as if he was in his early twenties. Hey, he was pretty attractive, I can't argue with that. "Did you get a name?" I asked.

Cody nodded his head. "His name is Logan"

"Okay. Bring him to my office then." I said, turning around to walk back inside.

From behind me I heard "Come on" and then the sound of stumbling feet. I smirked. He shouldn't have messed with this pack. Friendly or not.

I sat down in my chair once we reached my office and the man sat down too. Looking at Cody I nodded and he left. It was then when I actually stared into the eyes of Logan. A gasp esacped my lips. No. This can't be. He's my-

"Mate." He growled.
