The Alphas Beta

Walking around I would great anyone that would stop me and congratulate me for later tonight since I was finally going to become an Alpha of our pact. It was something I had always dreamed of when I would become Alpha everything would be perfect. I would have my best friend since childhood standing next to me on my right side as the new Beta and on my left side I would have my beautiful mate and future Luna. Sucks that my dream was completely taken away from me before it could even begin.

When Oliver was singing I wanted so badly to go up there and tell him that I was sorry. I wanted to go up on stage and kiss Oliver right on the lips and hold him close to me as I told everyone in the pack that I had been scared and that Oliver was actually my mate. Watching him sing I knew I couldn't go up there after the pain I know I have caused him. I rejected him and in return basically forced him to reject me as well.

This was what would be best for the pack. A strong Luna like Cassandra would be great and although I knew it was selfish, Oliver would still be at my side. The only difference was that Olivet wouldn't be my mate and would be my Beta. Sighing I walked over to a table full of elders and decided to talk to them while I waited for my time to go up on stage.

After a couple of hours of talking to different people I stood up and decided to go and find my father. As I was walking over to him from the corner of my eye I could see Oliver coming out of the woods with a smile on his face. The tears in his eyes probably long gone. Walking right behind him was Kai who caught my eyes looking at them before giving me a cold hard glare before it suddenly turned into a smirk.

Kai leaned over to wear his face was right next to Oliver's before he told him something that caused him to laugh. Oliver turned over and fave Kai a funny look before giving him a slight push.
Kai only laughed with him still making sure that I was paying attention before leaning down and placing a kiss on Oliver's cheek. I stopped walking and watched as Oliver stopped laughing for a second before his face turned slightly red and he bumped his shoulder with him.

Kai only looked at me with a smug smile on his face as he tugged Oliver over to the stage. Turning around I found my father standing right in front of me along with Oliver's father and his younger brother. I looked at my father before he gave me a small smile and motioned me over to the stage. I was a bit confused as to why the three of them had a small knowing smile on their face. As if they wanted to be fully happy but they knew something the wish they didn't.

Walking on to the stage I looked over and saw Oliver looking down at his feet as Kai gave him a side hug before hopping of the stage. Oliver's father stood next to him while his younger brother stood on the other side of him looking straight ahead with a straight face. My father came over and took the mic into his hand before signaling the people in the pack to quite down.

"Today marks a new generation in our pack. It has finally come to the time where I will step down as current Alpha and hand down my tittle to my eldest son Damien Lancer." He paused and looked over at me before turning towards me.

I faced my father as he took of the ring that had been passed down to every Alpha and held it up in front of everyone to see before holding it up to me. Getting down on one knee I bowed my head as my father spoke.

"Do you promise to provide and protect this pack to the best of your abilities. You will do whatever is necessary to ensure the best for the pack and for everyone in it. You will view the points of our pack and tend to our needs and in return we promise to protect you as our Alpha and promise to follow you." My fathers powerful voice filled my ears.

I had to close my eyes as his words rang in my head, "ensure the best for the pack." Yes, I had already sacrificed something to ensure the best for the pack. I had sacrificed my happiness with my best friend and will ensure that my pack had a proper female Luna.
