Author's POV:
Pin's heart raced when he saw Son's genuine smile at a young boy who approached him. This simple gesture filled Pin with strong emotions and made him even more determined. Although he felt conflicted and nervous inside, he found the courage to make a life-changing decision.
With clenched fists and excitement, Pin spoke with a calm strength that contrasted his trembling insides. "Okay," he said confidently. "I'll do it."
As he said those words, he felt a deep sense of responsibility weighted on his shoulders, reminding him of the big commitment he was about to make. But in that moment, Pin found comfort in his newfound determination, which pushed him forward with unwavering resolve.
"That's great!" Pond exclaimed with a wide grin, his eyes shining with excitement, as he gave Pin a reassuring pat on the back. "Remember, just be yourself, and everything will be alright."
Pin nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation racing through his mind. He tried to gather the courage, with doubts and hopes swirling around like a whirlwind. "Okay," he agreed, his voice trembling slightly. "I'll do my best."
"Good luck!" Can whispered, his voice filled with genuine support, softly squeezing Pin's hand.
With a shaky breath, Pin stood up from his seat, his legs feeling weak like jelly as he started walking his way towards Son. Each step felt like an eternity, his palms becoming sweaty and his heart pounding in his chest, ready to burst through his ribcage.
He could feel the curious eyes of his fellow students on him, watching his every move, their whispers creating a distant but constant hum in his ears. But Pin nonchalantly ignored the distractions, determined to solely focus on Son.
His eyes locked on the person who had effortlessly stolen his heart from the very moment he set foot on the lively college campus. Pin desperately hoped that somehow, despite his nervousness, he would find the perfect words when he finally stood in front of him.
Pin's heart began beating wildly with excitement and uncertainty as he walked towards Son. The advice from his friends played in his mind in loop mode, encouraging him to overcome his fear. Would he be able to gather the courage to do this? He had to try, there was no other option.
"Hey," He said nervously as he walked up to Son in the busy college cafeteria. He was disappointed with how quiet his voice was compared to the noise of the crowd. He could hear a slight shakiness in his voice, showing how vulnerable he felt.
Son turned to face him, looking into Pin's eyes with his beautiful doe-like gaze. A small smile appeared on his red plump lips as he recognised him. "Hey... You're Pin, right?"
Pin's heart skipped a beat at the sound of his name, causing his ears to turn slightly red. He stumbled over his words, his voice filled with a bit of nervousness. "Y-yes," he stuttered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I just... I wanted to, um, introduce myself."
As Pin spoke, he couldn't help but be captivated by the way Son's eyes sparkled with genuine interest, as if he was completely focused on him. In that amazing moment, Pin felt a glimmer of hope, a possibility that this chance meeting could become something more meaningful.
A warm smile, as bright as the sun, lit up Son's face, showing off his natural charm. "Nice to meet you, Pin," he said, his voice full of genuine warmth. "I've heard things about you. Don't worry, they're all good things. People have said you're completely in love with books. Your dedication to your studies hasn't gone unnoticed."
Pin's cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red at the lovely compliment, causing him to briefly look down at his shoes for comfort. But a surge of courage welled up inside him, making him raise his eyes to meet Son's soulful gaze once again. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice barely audible amidst the soft breeze. "I, um, couldn't help but notice you talking to some other students," Pin stuttered, his voice a mix of nervousness and excitement.
From afar, Pin had watched Son's effortless confidence and captivating personality, and his heart was captivated by Son's charming aura. Despite being naturally introverted, there was an irresistible force pulling Pin towards Son, urging him to grab this golden opportunity and approach him. "And I couldn't help but wonder... if, by any chance, I could join in the conversation?"
"Of course!" Son replied with genuine enthusiasm, his eyes shining with interest. "We were just talking about our favorite books. Would you mind sharing yours with us?"
Pin hesitated for a moment, his mind filled with a whirlwind of thoughts, each one vying for attention in the hopes of impressing Son. As a dedicated reader, Pin found comfort and inspiration within the pages of books that held the secrets of the universe. "Uh, certainly," he managed to say at last, his voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. "I have a deep affection for 'Pride and Prejudice.' The cleverness and brilliance of the captivating Elizabeth Bennet always touches my soul, igniting an endless flame of inspiration."
Son smiled and nodded in approval. "Oh, a classic choice," he commented, his tone showing his appreciation. "Personally, I prefer modern thrillers, but I can definitely enjoy a good romance novel every now and then."
Pin's surprise was clear from the look on his wide-eyed face. He never expected Son to be interested in romance novels. It was a pleasant surprise, and it made him feel closer to Son. "Really?" Pin asked curiously. "Do you have any favorites?"
Son thoughtfully tapped his chin and briefly glanced to the side as he considered his response. He had read many books over the years that had greatly influenced him. He said, "Let me think..." as his voice trailed off, searching through his memories.
Suddenly, a loud siren echoed through the college corridors, signaling the end of lunch break and the start of the next class.
Feeling a sense of urgency, Son looked at his watch with a worried expression. "Oh shit! I really need to go," he exclaimed. "Hopefully we can meet again, maybe during lunch."
Filled with anticipation, Pin nodded in agreement. "Okay," he replied, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. The mere idea of spending more time with Son brought him joy. "See you then."
"Great. See you, Pin." Son flashed him one final smile before swiftly turning and heading to his next class.
Pin stood there, captivated, as he watched him leave, his eyes fixed on Son's fading figure. A surge of emotions overwhelmed him, swirling and dancing like the breeze. Could it be real? Had he truly found the courage to approach Son? And even more, did Son also share his desire for friendship? The mere thought ignited a passionate flame in Pin's heart, surrounding him with warmth and hope.
Just as Son disappeared from everyone's sight, Can suddenly appeared beside Pin out of nowhere. He was truly an energetic monkey, as his voice filled with enthusiasm. "Wow, Pin! It finally happened!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "That was absolutely amazing! How do you feel?"
Pin, a mixture of fear and excitement flowing through his veins, couldn't help but let a small, hopeful smile form on his lips. "Terrified, but... excited," he admitted, his voice filled with a newfound confidence. "I can't believe I actually did it."
"Neither can we!" Pond chimed in after circling his arm around Pin's neck. Soon, they began walking to their next class. "But you did, and you were fantastic. We told you many times that there was nothing to be afraid of," Pond spoke.
"Thank you, guys," Pin murmured, feeling a surge of gratitude for his friends' unwavering support. "I guess we'll see what happens next time at lunch."
As they entered the classroom, Pin couldn't help but think about Son in loop mode. His heart pounding in anticipation. What would their conversation at lunch reveal about their growing connection? He could only hope that his newfound courage would lead them down the path towards friendship.
