It had been a few days since the incident with Echo. Everyone was slightly calmer and in a better state of mind except for one person, the Drifter. He was in a living hell, remembering why he never got close to anyone. It always harmed him in the end. He felt helpless, pathetic, and weak. He hated this feeling.

A glass full of liquor mixed with ether was raised to his lips. He quickly downed the contents to drown out his sorrows. If she was here, she would have scolded him. It was like he was waiting for her to appear, but deep down he knew she would not. Anger flooded his veins as he threw the glass across the room, causing it to shatter on impact. His eyes burned with rage as he laid his head down on the counter. He could feel his exhaustion consuming him and fought it off. He refused to sleep. He knew that if he did, his mind would torment him in his dreams. He fought it off as long as he could.

Sleep.

His eyes widened at the sound of an unknown voice. He could not figure out where the voice came from, or he could be hallucinating the voice.

Sleep, Germaine.

He grew more agitated and more frantic by the fact it spoke his name. However, he could feel himself weakening and sleep taking him over. He did what he could to fight it, but he gave in and finally fell asleep. For some reason, it felt strangely calm, like his mind would not torment him tonight.

He opened his eyes once more only to see he was not where he had fallen asleep. He was in a small town. He looked at the buildings and noticed those were homes from the dark age. As he walked around more, the scene before him shifts as he finds himself on the Moon; one of Echo's favorite places. He finds himself gazing at the Earth from where he stands, witnessing a sense of calm in the atmosphere. The short moment is disrupted as everything changes once more and finds himself inside the Derelict. Confusion floods his system as he begins to question the situation. Why is he going to all these places? He paced himself around as he tried to figure out the reason. He was drawn out of his thoughts when it shifted once more, this time it was located at a beach with a crashed ship. Something he did not recognize.

"I told you I would be back." His head whipped around to the sounds of an all too familiar voice. It was her. She was here. His eyes felt warm, but he held himself back from crying. Her amber eyes held nothing but love as she gazed at him.

"Oh, Germaine..." Her eyes softened at his appearance, he looked exhausted, broken, and fearful. "I'm sorry..." She turned her head away in shame. She should've been more careful.

"Where, where are we?" He asked her as he looked around seeing the beautiful beach. The ocean, or whatever water formation uses to lay here had been swept away by time. She smiled softly at him. "This is where I was given my second chance at life." He thought for a moment before he realized this was where her ghost found her.  She shifted her focus to him, he looked awful, and her heart ached for him. She walked closer to the Drifter and pulled him into a hug. He could feel her warmth, it eased his mind; calming him slightly.

"I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere, even if my physical body is no longer in my control." She whispered to him, her soft voice filling his ears. Oh how much he missed the sound of her voice, even if he did not understand the words that just left her lips. He paused for a moment, recalling what she just said. After a moment of thought he finally realized her intentions. She had a plan this whole time.

"Ya damn sly fox," Drifter grinned as he took her hands into his. "Ya had a backup plan this whole time." A small grin appeared on her lips.

"Of course I did, I'm called 'Oracle' for a reason!" She let out a small laugh. Drifter leaned closer to her ear with his signature snake-like grin found its way to his lips.
