I look to my left at the newly-destructed wall of the infirmary. A smile tugs on the corners of my lips, but I don't think I'll be able to smile. Not right now, at least. I adjust my sitting position on the remains of the wall next to Illy, and I see her doing the same as me. We've been sitting like this for the past fifteen minutes now, Rahne, Dani, Sam and Berto finding themselves perfectly capable of walking and looking around in the rubble. I look back when Dani starts talking.
"Thank you." Oh. She's looking at Rahne. "Thanks, all of you...for saving me."
"Are you kidding?" Rahne has a smirk on her face, and I find it adorable. "You saved us."
Sam walks away from me and Illy, stepping out of the rubble. I notice his coal in his hand, and my eyes widen slightly when he throws it into the sky-using his powers to boost it. I watch the sky, same as he does, and my mouth falls slightly open when there's no orange in it.
"Hey, guys...the dome's gone." He announces, and I look at Illy. She's looking at him.
"So...we're free?" She asks the million dollar question.
"Reyes always said the nearest town is twenty miles away." Berto says, and I scoff.
"She could be lying." Illy shrugs, and then looks up at Dani. "Should we find out?"
"Hell yeah we should." I laugh, and Sam walks over to me as everyone else begins to stand up. He holds his hands out to help me up, which I gratefully accept.
"You ready to elope and get Salem and Marley?" He asks, and I laugh as he pulls me to my feet.
"I wasn't even thinking of them, honestly." I tell him, and he mocks a hurt expression.
"You weren't thinkin' about our happy ending?"
"No, no, no. Of course I was. I always am." I look back at Roberto, Dani, Rahne and Illyana as the four of them begin walking back to the front of the facility. "I just think it's time we make a few adjustments."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Like what?"
"Well, for starters, I want two kittens and...three dogs."
