I could hear Rienne and Fredon a while back now, and I followed this unusually small guard through the forest. It was just about then that the thought occurred to me, Well, aren't they strange clothes for a guard.
I mean the Baron was a jerk, but I doubted that he was going to make his guards wear such ridiculous green outfits, instead of proper steel that most of his mercenaries, I mean guards wore.
I was a lot further away from those other two guards, now would be the perfect time to strike. I made sure once more that my hood was down, and my face was concealed, except my eyes. And the guard was just reaching the branch now. He looked up and we met eyes. But it was already too late.
I pounced from the tree tops and landed on top of him. Talk about being subtle, that's kinda what thieves are meant to be isn't it.
I saw him open his mouth and quickly unsheathed my sword. I was too late, once again the young guard called out for this Halt character. Out of instinct I bought the blunt of my sword to his temple and banged it against it. He went out cold.
As quickly as I could I grabbed his belongings, and snatched the metal piece that was holding his cloak together. Thieves love shiny things.
It wasn't long before I heard hoof beats coming my way, and a lot less longer than I was hoping I saw the two men bringing their horses and the third guards my way.
One of them shouted at me and I quickly kneeled down and tucked a flower, the alstromeria, into the unconscious guards hands before they closed in on me.
I saluted before hastily making my way up one of the trees. One of them was about to follow after me, but he was stopped by the third member.

I had to take the longer route around, I didn't want to have a run in with any other guards. I was just about to keep searching for Rienne and Fredon when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Raven? Did you get the information?" It was Fredon.
"Oh, you scared me, and yeah, I got everything that guard had on him" I pulled out my satchel to prove it. Fredon nodded.
"Good, Rienne went back to her fathers estate, so it's just you and me, I guess we better start heading back to the Sanctuary"
I nodded in agreement, I slung the satchel over my back and pulled the cloth from my face.
We began the long walk back to the Sanctuary, I probably should have brought my horse Frost, but now wasn't the time for should haves, we needed to get back to the Sanctuary and Mercer. This Satchel might just contain the right information we needed to expose the Baron's plan, even if we weren't entirely sure about the plan itself. Unfortunately, we were too caught up with the satchel that we forgot to cover our tracks.
We approached the door and were greeted by Al, a big man from Hibernia, about 3 years my senior, making him 26 years old.
"Top of the evenin' to you!" He greeted us as he saw us approach, "Mercer is keen to find out what you found out about the wee rascal Corvel" He pushed the hidden button that opened up the stone entrance to the Sanctuary.
We both smiled as we walked past. We were met with a greeting from Hana, Telera and some other members who were busy using the training room.
"Raven, Fredon! Over here!" It was Mercer, we both spun around to see him at one of the dining tables with a load of paper work in front of him.
"Mercer, we found some of his scouts, I would've tried to identify them but it was way too dark" Fredon began as he pulled out a chair.
"But, I got this off one of them" I continued as I dumped the stuff onto the table.
"And I presume you left them a little note?' Mercer said with a smile.
"The flower?" I asked "Of course" I smiled at Mercer and he gave me a mischievous grin.
Talking about flowers made me think about that piece of metal, I'm not entirely sure why.
"Also, I got this as well" I said before I pulled it out of my pocket, and placed it on the table.
It was an Oakleaf, we all stared at it for a while before I gasped at realisation.
"Raven..." Mercer began.
"Oh no!" Fredon said as he put his face into his palms.
Because, sitting in front of us was the sign of the Kings personal security force. In front of us was the symbol of the Rangers Corps, which meant, we had just ransacked a group of Rangers, and I had just left our seal with them.

Gilan paced around Baron Aralds office. Will was sitting in front of him, a large bruise on his temple, Halt was out tracking the perpetrators, and that damned flower lay on the desk.
The Baron came bursting through the door and sat down with a thump.
"I came as quickly as I could, ambushed you say?" He said, he had not noticed the flower yet.
"Yes, there were three of them, and they left that" Gilan said gruffly as he pointed to the flower.
The Baron's faced drained slightly as he saw it. Gilan's eyebrow raised and he moved closer.
"The alstromeria" the Baron took a breath before continuing "that can only mean one thing, the Thieves Guild is back in business"
