A young girl raised at Redmont with stories of the adventures and travels of Will Treaty and Halt the Ranger longs for what they have. At fifteen it finally becomes her reality as she gets accepted as Will's apprentice. But everything isn't as it should be in the kingdom and she suddenly becomes a part of those stories told in front of the fireplace.

When a Ranger suddenly disappears, Will is sent to investigate. The situation soon becomes a race against time in order to save more lives than one.

Lizzie was an unwanted girl, she had been from orphanage to orphanage. everyone said she was trouble. on her 15th birthday she gets a letter from her parents, she finds out that her father is a kings Ranger. After unfortunate events, Lizzie makes her way to Redmount, with the help of Gilan she is reunited with her parents. After a rollercoaster of events, Lizzie meets a boy, a kid named Jake. Meeting him gives her the opportunity to befriend some other kids in the village, but will they come to her aid when she needs it most or will she have to say goodbye to the only friends she has. (some of the characters do not belong to me, they belong to Mr. Flanagan)
