Once Sonic arrived to the garden, he found Shadow by the bloodberries, seemingly the vampire was cleaning the area around them and in general taking care of them. The sun was just now rising and the first sunrays played around with Shadow's black fur, making it reflect the light and even get a metallic shades of a few colors here and there.

"Wow," Sonic whispered to himself, but Shadow's sensitive ears still detected it.
"What do you want?" the vampire hissed at him without even looking at him as he worked on the garden. Sonic tensed up and gulped in nervousness.

"U-uh.. I-I'm sorry, if I upset you by something," he said carefully, irritated by how unpredictable the other hedgehog was.
"Sorry for this?" Shadow stood up and turned around to face him, shoving the bitten bloodberry in front of him with a serious, angry frown on his face. Sonic backed off a little and felt guilty now for his previous actions, which also got him to have those problems at night.

He rubbed his neck and lowered his head in shame, but Shadow lifted his free hand and gripping the other's chin tightly he made Sonic look at him again. Such action awakened a new fear in Sonic, who didn't dare to move an inch of his body.

"I never again wanna see such a waste, am I clear?" Shadow hissed at him angrily and Sonic frantically nodded while lifting his hands in surrender.
"You irritate me," the vampire scoffed and finally let go of Sonic's chin, then pulled a small flip knife out of his long coat pocket and crouching down he pressed the seed sack against his knee before carefully cutting it off, separating it from the berry itself.

"A-Are we good?" Sonic asked him carefully while curiously watching him.
"Depends," Shadow shrugged and burried the seed sack deep to the ground, caringly covering it by the earth he then sighed and stood up while putting the knife back to his pocket.

"Hey, uh.. is this the only thing making you upset?" another question escaped the blue hedgehog's lips before the hedgie could stop himself from asking it.
"No. I don't wanna talk about it," Shadow admitted, then shook his head and seemed to move towards the nearest bench, where he sat down on it and sighed while enjoying the sunrays.

'Yeah, different from fictions,' Sonic thought, when he saw him sitting there on the sunrays without being affected by them.
"Doesn't the sun hurt you?" Sonic had really a lot of courage though, as he slowly approached the bench and sat on the other end of it, keeping distance from the vampire. Both because of the fear and also respect.

Shadow sighed and looking down at the berry in his hand he actually got an idea what to do with it, so it wouldn't be wasted anymore. For now, he was just going to wield it.
"No, it doesn't," he finally replied, reconciling with the fact, that Sonic already knows the harsh truth about him. It bothered him still so much though.

Sonic took a moment to look at Shadow slowly up and down and had to admit, the vampire has surely some magic in him, when he looks so handsome and attractive in the sunlight. Sonic's heart skipped a beat a few times and he even subconsciously lifted his hand up to his chest, as if trying to calm it down.

"Are you going to stare at me all day long?" Shadow's question snapped him out of it, followed by the crimson irises staring back at him.
"S-Sorry, heh..." Sonic quickly averted his gaze and now felt his heart beating super fast in embarassment.

Shadow raised a brow at the other's odd behavior and shaking his head he returned to his little brooding, as he closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths, enjoying the fresh soft breeze of the autumn morning taking over the garden.

Sonic stole a few glances at him, but no longer dared to stare at him for more than just a second, not really wanting to upset the vampire more than he already did.
"Shadow?" he called his name quietly, receiving just a reaction in form of the other's ear flicking twice.
