"You idiot!" Sonic heard Shadow's voice close to him and opening his eyes he found out, that he ended up safe in the vampire's arms. He was still slightly shocked from the fall, looking up at the ebony male he then burried his face to his chest covered by the long coat. He just now noticed, that Shadow seemed to probably never take it off.

"Hey, you alright?" Shadow asked him in worry while looking down at him with a frown on his face.
"Mhm," Sonic just hummed in response and shivered from how cold the weather got right now. Shadow detected the little change, so he sighed and rather carried the hedgie inside, choosing his bedroom as the final destination.

He wordlessly laid Sonic on the bed there and was about to go for a med-kit, but his wrist got grabbed and thus he had to stop walking, if he didn't want to drag the blue hedgehog behind like a dead weight.
"Shadow, please, stay," Sonic pleaded him with puppy eyes, but the vampire snatched his own wrist away from the grip.
"Calm down, I am just gonna grab a med-kit," he replied in irritated tone and for real rather left in fast pace before he would get grabbed again.

He was annoyed by how clingy the blue hedgehog lately acted towards him. Coming to the bathroom he picked the med-kit and returned to the bedroom, where he treated the blue hedgehog's left arm and lastly wrapped a bandage around it.
"I hope you learned the lesson, Sonic!" he growled at him and placed the med-kit on the nightstand, deciding, that it will be probably needed more often with this hedgehog around.

"Hehe, but it got you down," Sonic grinned in victory despite the situation and Shadow didn't know, how else to respond to that, so he remained silent and just sat down on a chair by the round table. Crossing his arms he stared out the window and watched the first drops of rain playing around the glass board.

Sonic sat up on the bed and freely put his feet on the floor, unable to stay still for even a few minutes.
"Shadow?" he called the other's name carefully and after getting his attention he continued.
"What's inside of the chest?" he asked while pointing at the chest under the window.

"Nothing of your concern," Shadow retorted and returned his gaze to the window.
"Bloodberries?" Sonic tilted his head, not letting the other brush him off so easily.
"Curiosity killed a hedgehog, Sonic," Shadow sighed and glanced at his companion with serious expression on his face.
"Isn't it a cat, that got killed?"
"Doesn't matter! My point here is, you are sticking your nose to stuff you shouldn't even know about, it's enough you already know about who I am! From a ghost!" Sonic tried to joke a little with him, but the vampire took it seriously, which made the blue furball roll his eyes at it.

"Sheesh, Shadow, you need to learn to recognize a joking from seriousness," Sonic retorted before pausing for a moment.
"Wait, so that is what you're still upset about? Hey, I assured you, I am fine with it for the most part. Like I told your mother, as long as you do not intend to suck me till my death, I am alright and not gonna hate you," he said honestly, standing up he approached the vampire and stood in front of him, noticing him tense up in his presence.

Shadow stared up at him with unreadable expression in his eyes, which  he narrowed slightly, as if contemplating something.
"Okay, if... if I am a bother to you, I can just leave, ya know. Pretend I never met you," Sonic added in a bit sad undertone and backed off, willing to leave this place and never come back, forget about its existence.

"Too late, Sonic. I can't let you leave so easily," Shadow replied in firm tone and stood up to emphasize his words.
"Why not?" Sonic raised a brow in confusion, not seeing a single problem in him leaving this place for good.
"With the knowledge you already have? How can I trust you to never tell anyone about us?" Shadow elaborated while slowly approaching him. Sonic instinctively started walking backwards until his back spins met the wall behind him.
