Sommers-Gilbert residence: Alexandra PoV

Pulling up in front of the Sommers-Gilbert home, preparing myself for what will be an amazing evening, with hopefully a good ending, I can definitely feel the anxiety. Walking up and ringing the doorbell at exactly 7, I wait patiently for the door to open knowing that Jenna is the only one home. When she opens the door, I can't help but suck in a mouthful of air. While her makeup is noticeable, she's made sure that it looks elegant, and her hair has been done in a fairly elaborate bun. As for clothes, she's wearing a form fitting black dress, with a slit starting at the very start of her left thigh. While it isn't overly ostentatious, it's obvious she chose the dress to impress, and impress she did. It certainly goes along well with my own suit. "You look gorgeous" My voice is embarrassingly breathless, and judging by her giggle she didn't mind one bit. "You're certainly handsome yourself. I didn't know how fancy things were going to be, so I was worried I might have gone a little over the top"

Gently lifting her hand to place a chaste kiss on the back of it, I give her a small smile. "No, it's absolutely perfect. It wouldn't matter how fancy the place is or isn't, what matters the most to me is that you feel comfortable and confident in what you wear" Her blush brings a warmth to my chest, and I can't help but preen under the unsaid praise. Holding out my arm, she took it as I slowly began walking us towards my car. "I didn't want to go over the top myself at the risk of making you uncomfortable, so the destination is just the grill this time. I wouldn't be me if there wasn't a twist though" My boyish smile gets a laugh from her as I open the door to the car for her, helping her get in so her dress isn't ruffled. Getting into the driver's seat, I send her a small smile to make sure she's ready.

As we arrive at the grill, I can't help but smirk a little at the sign at the window saying that the place is booked for a private event. Her surprised inhale of air, tells me she saw it as well. "You booked out the entire grill just for us? And on such short notice?" Once again, I can't help but look at her with my boyish smile. "Of course I did. I didn't want to risk making you uncomfortable with a super expensive restaurant, and all the rules of social etiquette that comes with that. But I still wanted the night to be ours and special" The small but genuine smile she gave me was made all the better with the blush coating her cheeks. "You didn't have to do that, but I appreciate it nonetheless"

As we enter, her look of awe tells me she didn't expect the grill to be decked out with romantic lights and candles, and I can't help but blush a little myself as I rub my neck. "Okay, so maybe I did go a little over the top, but I'm a romantic at heart" Her smile when she looked at me took my breath away, as it reached her eyes, fully showing me just how unapologetically happy she really is. "This is amazing Alex! Truly! Wait, do you mind me calling you Alex?" My laugh was small, but came from the chest. "No, I don't mind one bit. I'll be the first to admit that Alexandra can be a mouthful" Pulling out the chair for her, I allow her to sit down before pushing her chair in. Sitting down myself, I give her a small smile. "Feel free to pick whatever you want from the menu luv, I'm not the type to gatekeep what you'll be eating unless I have explicit consent to order for you"

After we ordered our food, we kept making meaningful smalltalk, getting to know each other with small bite sized questions about one another while waiting for the food to arrive. "So have you been in the states for long?" Giving her a hum, I nodded my head slowly. "I've been here for quite a few years, but I guess I never lost the accent, despite living on my own. I take it you're Mystic Falls born and bred?" She had her head resting in her hands, with a small relaxed smile. "I am yeah, although I moved away for a while after a bad breakup" While I already knew that from yesterday, I nodded my head regardless to show I was listening. We were interrupted when a server arrived with our food, but I didn't even bother to look at them in favour of not taking my eyes away from Jenna.
