A week had passed since y/n had begun her intensive training on the Lookout. With Mr. Popo's guidance, she had honed her martial arts skills and developed a level of discipline that had exceeded her own expectations. Now, she found herself training under the guidance of the Namekian Piccolo, a warrior with vast experience and wisdom. As y/n sparred with Piccolo, she quickly realized that he was not just a formidable mentor but also a challenging opponent. His tactics were unorthodox and unpredictable, keeping her on her toes. It was evident that she was giving him a workout, and Piccolo couldn't help but be surprised by her progress.
"Your skills are quite remarkable, Y/n," Piccolo commented, blocking one of her powerful strikes. "I didn't expect you to come this far in such a short time."
Y/n grinned, beads of sweat glistening on her forehead. "Thank you, Piccolo. Your training has been incredibly helpful."
Meanwhile, Gohan had been spending his time on the Lookout as well, but his reasons were quite different. He had sought refuge from the troubles at home. His parents, Goku and Chi-Chi, had been arguing more frequently, and the peaceful sanctuary of the Lookout was a welcome escape.
As Piccolo and y/n wrapped up their training session, Piccolo noticed Gohan talking to Dende. Concerned, Piccolo approached them, his antennae twitching in curiosity.
"Gohan, what are you doing here?" Piccolo asked, genuine worry in his voice.
Gohan sighed and looked down, avoiding Piccolo's gaze. "I needed to get away, Piccolo. Mom and Dad have been fighting a lot lately, and I just needed some space."
Piccolo frowned, a sense of understanding washing over him. "I've noticed it too, Gohan. It's been happening more frequently. You know you can always come here when you need a break."
Y/n had been observing the exchange, her heart going out to Gohan. After a moment, she approached him and introduced herself once more. "Hey, Gohan. I'm y/n, in case you forgot. How's everything going?"
Gohan looked up and offered a weak smile. "I remember you, Y/n. Sorry about earlier. Everything's been okay. How's your training been going?"
Piccolo interjected, adding, "She's been doing exceptionally well. Y/n is a promising fighter."
Gohan's eyes lit up with excitement, his mood lifting. "That's great to hear! Would you mind sparring with me, y/n? It's been a while since I had a good fight."
Y/n nodded enthusiastically, excited to fight someone different who wasn't a teacher/trainer "Of course, Gohan. Let's do it!"
The two fighters stepped away from Piccolo and began their sparring match. Their movements were swift and precise, and they traded blows in a controlled yet exhilarating manner. Gohan's abilities and Y/n's strength made for a dynamic match.
As they exchanged punches and kicks, Goku suddenly appeared on the Lookout. However, he looked different from his usual energetic self. He was exhausted, sweat-soaked, and his ki felt depleted. He had come to find Gohan but was momentarily distracted by the sight of y/n and Gohan locked in battle.
Seeing the young warrior engaged in a spirited fight, a spark of excitement surged within Goku. He had forgotten his weariness, and a wide grin crept onto his face. It was as though his fatigue had melted away, replaced by his insatiable love for battle.
Piccolo noticed Goku's arrival and approached him. "Goku, you look like you've been through quite a lot. What happened?"
Goku scratched his head, still fixated on the fight below. "Oh, Piccolo, it's nothing. I had a rough day. But look at them go! Y/n's got some real potential!"
Y/n and Gohan continued their friendly sparring session, unaware of Goku's presence and the attention they had drawn.
Goku remained fixated on the sparring match below, a renewed vigor evident in his eyes despite his weariness. Piccolo, however, couldn't ignore Goku's state and prodded further, "Goku, seriously, what happened? You look like you've been through a battlefield."
Goku scratched his head sheepishly. "Well, you know how it is, Piccolo. Chi-Chi and I had another argument. She's been on my case about everything lately."
Piccolo raised an eyebrow, not entirely surprised. "Again? What was it about this time?"
Goku sighed, his shoulders slumping. "Oh, you know, the usual. I forgot to do some chores, ate too much, and apparently, I'm not taking things seriously. She even scolded me for coming here to train. But watching Y/n and Gohan sparring has lifted my spirits a bit."
Piccolo couldn't help but chuckle. "You never change, Goku. But perhaps you should address the issues at home. Constant arguing can't be good for either of you."
Goku nodded, his expression more serious.
As the two observed the ongoing sparring match, Y/n and Gohan continued to exchange powerful blows. Gohan was thoroughly enjoying the challenge Y/n presented, and he couldn't help but be impressed by her strength.
Y/n managed to land a solid kick, sending Gohan skidding back. She grinned, a newfound confidence radiating from her. "You're pretty good, Gohan! Your abilities are impressive."
Gohan chuckled, rubbing his jaw. "You're not too shabby yourself, Y/n. I can tell you've been training hard up here."
Y/n nodded, her determination evident. "I've always been pretty strong but I've learned a lot from Mr. Popo and Piccolo. They've been amazing mentors."
Piccolo, joining the conversation, added, "She's been a quick learner, Gohan. I didn't expect her to progress this fast."
Gohan's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "That's awesome! We could use all the strong fighters we can get, especially with the threats that always seem to pop up."
"You know," Y/n began, "while I've been up here, I've overheard some stories about the villains you all have dealt with. It seems you had a run-in with Cell, too. My village had a bit of a scare, but he left them alone eventually."
Gohan nodded, a serious expression on his face. "Yeah, Cell was a tough opponent. We managed to handle it, though. It's good to know your village is safe."
Y/n smiled, appreciating Gohan's concern "Absolutely. It's amazing to hear about the challenges you've faced. I feel like I've joined a team of real heroes."
Goku, who had been listening, grinned proudly. "Well, we do what we can to protect everyone!"
The conversation shifted as Y/n considered heading down to her village. "I think I'll go visit my friends and grab some food. It's been a while since I've seen everyone."
Gohan's eyes lit up. "Mind if I come along, Y/n? I'd love to meet your friends, and it sounds like a good time."
Y/n smiled, appreciating the offer. "Sure, Gohan, but you might want to ask your dad first. I don't want to get in the way of any plans."
Goku's eyes sparked with excitement. "Going on a little adventure, huh? Sounds like fun!Count me in!"
Y/n chuckled at Goku's demeanour "Great! The more, the merrier. Let's grab some food and head down. I'm sure my friends will be thrilled to meet you both."
