"Margo, did you hear what your best friends said?" Hobbie's disbelieving voice stopped Margo in her tracks. She was so preoccupied by her work that she hadn't seen the little meeting happening just a few feet away from her.

She gave the boy a confused glance. Beside her, the whole group had formed a circle around Miguel, and when Hobie brought her name up, they all turned to her. Miguel stressfully raked a hand through his already laid-back hair.

She knew he was referring to him when he said "best friend." But it would've been nice to get an inquiry into what he meant.

Setting her tablet down on her desk to take a well-deserved and needed break. She extended one of her virtual hands, pulling herself toward them.

"What did he do this time?" She asked with an amused grin on her face.

"Might wanna scratch that smile off your face. You're gonna hate him in the next few seconds." Hobbie said, and normally she'd laugh, but the expression he wore was one that left no room for jokes. He was dead serious.

Hobie Brown was dead serious. That statement alone made her blood turn cold. She took a deep breath. Was this about Miles? She turned her head toward the boy from Earth 1610, and he bore an expression that was a mixture of terror and despair. What had Miguel done this time? He really needed to get off the boy's case.

"Why would she hate me?" Miguel interjected before Margo could speak. Confusion etched his features as he struggled to comprehend the implications behind Hobbie's words. This wasn't about Margo; their previous conversation had nothing to do with her. So he was having a hard time connecting the dots.

Without offering an explanation, Hobbie closed the gap between them, wrapping an arm around Margo's shoulder as he began to narrate the events rather dramatically.

"Your best friend here was sitting peacefully and thought, huh! Things are a little bit too peaceful, aren't they? I don't like it so—"

"That's not—" Miguel attempted to interject, but Hobbie continued, undeterred.

"So he decided to erase your little boyfriend's dimension."

"Boyfriend?" The people who knew the full context of what Miguel had said gasped, but Margo was drawn more into the destruction part.

"Erase? Why and how would you even do that?" She inquired, her gaze fixed on the older man. He sighed, but before he could respond, Hobbie interjected with his usual light-hearted banter.

He tightened his grip on Margo. "That's where you come on." Margo titled her face toward him with a confused stare. "He was gonna ask you NICELY to build a weapon that could erase your little Miles dimension. But don't worry, he was gonna ask nicely." He smiled. Margo was grateful for his lighthearted comments. She knew he was trying to calm it down a bit, but WHAT THE FUCK!

She turned to Miguel, but the look on his face told her that he was more concerned about the boyfriend part than the whole destruction of a dimension. She sighed. It wasn't by purpose that she had let out the information about her and Miles 42.

Hobie always listened to others as if he were in the wrong. And she happened to be someone who, once they start talking, can't keep it quiet, so that intel kinda might have slipped out of her mouth during one of their conversations.
