POV- Samuel

A familiar gaze that awakened a flood of memories from six years ago. Nostalgia, tinged with surprise, washed over me. She looked different yet the same, a poignant reminder of the chapters we once shared. Meeting her at the airport was the last thing I had ever imagined. I couldn't move or do anything when I saw her. I was struck by the sudden collision when I saw her in the elevator. She was wearing a hoodie, carrying some groceries, and bobbing her head to some song that was playing in her headphones. As our eyes met through the glass door of the elevator, my world came to a halt and I assumed the same was true for her, which amused me. When I realized she was my neighbor, I couldn't help but thank the Lord, if there is one.

"Are you following me?" She questioned.

I have always wanted to

"No this is where I live," I said pointing toward my apartment, and when I said she was shocked to her life. Well in her defense, she wasn't expecting this but so do I and the only difference is our feelings. She resents this moment and I find this as an opportunity. Opportunity to mend our relationship and I won't lose it to anyone this time.

"OHH" this is the only thing she was able to come up with and she turned around to get into her apartment.

"How have you been?" I asked, I wanted to talk to her.

"Better than ever" She replied with her head slightly turned around still facing her back to me.

"Where have been all these years?" I asked, I'm curious.

"None of your business"

Ouch, her reaction hurts.

"Well, as a civilized citizen, I need to know about my neighbor, during some emergencies neighbors are the ones to reach first." I justified. I'm not ready to leave the conversation yet.

"Ohh right!" Now she turned completely around.

Small steps. I had an almost victorious smirk on me.

"OK, tell me since when have you been staying here?" She asked with a small time.

"For the past, 3 years"

"Then tell me the actual owner of this apartment," she asked,

I was stuck, I never checked who lived in this apartment and to whom it belonged. I rarely come home and whenever I come it's almost midnight so I never cared about my neighbor.

"Much for Thinking about your neighbor" she stated. "You can continue your way of treating your neighbor, I don't really care so, mind your business." With that, she stormed inside her apartment.

I was awe-struck with her attitude. She is not the girl I know, she is different now. She became bolder, stronger, and much hotter -she became a woman.

I was sitting on my couch in my apartment thinking about the lady in the opposite apartment. I need to know everything about her past, present, and future. First, let's start with the owner.

I dialed my secretary's number and he picked up on the 3rd ring.

"Hello-" I cut him off.

"I want the whole information about my neighbor by morning"

"Why?" he was curious.

"Just do what I say" I cut the call.

The night was long, to distract myself from those long never ending thoughts, I immersed myself in my office work, unaware when I slender into sleep. It was almost 6 am when I woke up to the sound of a calling bell. Who the hell came at this early morning!!!!!?. I got up yawning with messy hair, might be looking like a zombie- sexy zombie.
