They both sat in silence for a while, not muttering a word. Then the silence was broken by Max's stomach growling for food. It was nearly a whole day since Max had eaten something.

"I'm starving." Max admitted to Lucas who had heard his growl from Max's stomach.

"Me too, I have eaten in like ten hours." Lucas complain squeezing his empty tummy.

"But where are going to get food?" Max inquired slightly worried, "We don't have any money with us."

"We'll find a solution." Lucas replied trying not to panic, it would be a really hard night if they didn't eat. "There is always one!" He added when he realised that Max had understood his worries. Max nodded and suggested that they should look around for any edible food.

"I feel like a beggar!" Max complained after looking in the seventh rubbish bin. All they had found was a packet of opened ketchup, some mouldy salad from McDonalds and piece of edible but disgusting bread near the one rubbish bin on the floor. In conclusion, they had just wasted their energy and time for nothing. Max closed his eyes and sighed, looking at the sad amount of food that they had collected and half of them you can't eat. Lucas just stood there not doing anything, he too concluded that they weren't going to have anything to eat that night.

"Two starving kids looking for rubbish to eat?" An annoying voice made Max turn around quickly. It was a fat, blond haired boy, he was wearing high quality clothes and shoes, it wasn't hard to tell that he came from a posh and wealthy family. He was a bit taller than Max and looked down at Max as if he was an animal.

"Hungry, right?" The boy asked in a childish voice, he took out a piece of chocolate from his shirt pocket and began to munch on it in front of Max and Lucas. Max tried to calm himself down, he now had two options, either to snatch that chocolate bar away or ignore it. He gritted his teeth as growled, "Go away, you spoiled brat!" He stared at the boy coldly, if stares could kill, then the boy would have died millions of times. But the boy just laughed his annoying laugh, giggling as he threw a tiny bar of chocolate at Max and backed away enjoying Max's expression.

"Junior Bradly! Stop talking to those two disgusting tramps!" A female voice called the boy. The boy smiled then making a face at Max and Lucas then jogged towards his parents. Lucas held his fists tightly; this was unacceptable for him.

"Ignore him." Max's voice brought him back to his senses, Max had learned to calm himself down much better since the incident with Mr Beckon. Lucas sighed and asked not expecting an answer, "Why can other people treat us like that? It's just plainly rudeness!"

"Because we're poor and their rich." Max asked as if it was obvious.

"You may want some food?" A gentle voice asked, it was an old gentleman. He wore thick glasses which made his eyes look gigantic. He wore a yellow and green jumper and navy-blue pants.

"Yes, of course!" Max replied hopefully, he hoped that this wasn't a trick.

The old man smiled and took out ten gold. "I saw the idiot boy talk to you two, I felt bad that you were being treated like this. Take it and go and get yourself something to eat."

"Really?" Lucas asked in disbelief, not wanting to take the old man's money.

"Take it, or else you'd be starving tonight." The old man said with a tone that Max and Lucas must take it.

"Thank you so much!" Max finally said, taking the money out of the old man's hands. "You're the kindest person I've ever met!"

"Thank you!" Lucas also exclaimed after Max.

The old man smiled and said, "Your welcome! Have a good night!" After he hurried of, then disappearing in Max and Lucas' view.

"Max, you know, not all people are nasty." Lucas concluded. Max nodded and promised, "I swear on my life, if there's any day when I could help him, I would do it!"

"Me too!" Lucas chimed in.
