Peril tried to take in everyone's ideas, listening closely, but everyone was talking so fast, so simultaneously, it was hard to hear everyone.
This is so hard! What are we going to do? So many cats . . . So many ideas . . .
"Everyone, please!" Midnight's cry was desperate, a worried look plastered into her eyes. "Just calm down, we'll work this out."
Peril looked over to her friends. Ioclaw looked serious, clearly too focused on figuring out a plan than anything else. Rust looked shocked, almost scared. There was a small hint of relief in his gaze, so small it was barely noticeable.
"The question is how we'll attack," Wire murmured. Ioclaw whipped her head around to stare at him. "And when."
Wire thought for a moment. "It will have to be soon."
Ioclaw narrowed her eyes. "It can't be soon! Those cats are bigger than us, we already said that! We need time to prepare, time to get everyone ready for battle."
"It's just a group of cats," Sky told her. "It's just like how we sometimes battle each other." Some cats winced at her words, clearly feeling awkward by what she'd just said. "What's so different?"
Ioclaw was about to speak, but Peril beat her. "They have sabertooth allies! I heard them say it!"
Some exchanged shocked glances while some looked unfazed, as though they'd already guessed this.
"How?" Tawny breathed.
"They tricked the sabertooths into believing that they knew Evoir and could keep him away from them," Rust explained.
"They know Evoir?!" Grape cried. Nightmare rolled his eyes. "Did you miss the part where Rust said the sabertooths are being tricked? Moron!"
Grape shot him a look, which Rust ignored. He just rolled his eyes and looked away.
"What if we invade?" Roxy suggested suddenly. All eyes settled on her. "We could send a large group of cats in to attack their home. Then, we send more in, slowly sending everyone in, group by group."
"That's a good idea," Midnight meowed. "And it just may work."
"When do we attack?" Kestrel called.
"When everyone is ready," Ioclaw replied. "We can't attack too soon or we may lose more than necessary."
"We can't be too late either, though," Peril murmured, slight anxiety trickling through her. "Remember the prophecy?"
"Obviously," Ioclaw scoffed. "Kinda the whole reason for this meeting."
Peril turned her attention back to the gathered cats. Tiger was toward the front, shifting his paws anxiously. He knows either he or Kite will need to go into battle. I wish Kit-Watchers didn't have to get involved.
Hope sprang to her paws. "We should prepare our healers," she mewed. "They need to be ready, too. They'll have a lot of injuries to take care of."
Rust's eyes widened in alarm. "The other Guilds will need more healers on their side." He turned to Midnight. "Do you think we could give Tawny and Wire two of our healers?"
Midnight stared at him like he was mad. "We can't give up our healers!"
"Just until the battle is over," Rust explained. "We can give Tawny Brick and Wire Cody."
Midnight shut her eyes for a moment. "Of course our youngest ones," she whispered. "Alright, fine, but just for the battle. After, our healers come right back to us." She glared at the other two leaders. "Understood?"
