Peril pulled herself onto the top of the wall and stared down at the bigger cats.
"There's so many!" Carly breathed.
"There's only fifteen," Aries said, pulling herself up next to Peril. "There's more of us. And we're prepared for this battle. They have no idea."
Peril nodded. She looked down the line of cats lined up on the wall. There were well over fifty. "Are we ready?" she whispered to the nearest leader, who happened to be Wire.
"Yes," Wire whispered back.
The silver tomcat signaled to Midnight and the pretty molly raised her head. "Attack!"
The cats poured off the wall, running into the other cats' camp. Confusion and shock crossed their faces. One quickly whirled around. "It's the Guilds!"
One ran up behind the other and let out a snarl. "Those feather-brains!"
Peril launched herself at a smaller cat, Tawny, Feather, Kestrel, and Orcasight at her side. They clawed viciously at the cat. She yelped and sank her claws into Peril's back, violently yanking her off and tossing her to the ground.
"There's more!" someone yowled, staring at the group of six cats closing in on him.
"How many?" the cat Peril had just attacked called.
"At least thirty!"
Thirty? Peril thought. Not everyone's shown their faces yet. Good. They'll be more surprised when more of us arrive. Where's Ioclaw and Rust?
Peril spotted Ioclaw fiercely fighting against a cat that was way bigger than her. Whitepatches, Birdwing, Redwing, Nightmare, Fox, Claw, Scar, and Tiger were helping her. The cat was yowling in pain and trying to fight back, but they were clawing him from every angle, it was hard to decide where to attack.
Rust was fighting with Fox, Squirrel, Moriah, and Heather against a cat that was a little smaller than the one Peril had gone after. They were doing well, the molly seemed like she was about to surrender.
One cat leaped at Peril, but she rolled out the way, barely avoiding the claws. The tomcat landed hard, getting a faceful of dust and dirt. He got to his paws and looked past Peril with wide eyes. "There's more?!" He turned to look at Peril. "How many of you are there?"
"Why should I tell you?" Peril snarled. She leaped at the cat's chest and sank her claws deep into it. He yelped in pain and tried shaking her off. "Tower!" he yowled.
Teeth sank into Peril's neck from behind, pulling at her. She fought back a yowl and used one paw to claw at her nose. The molly hissed but didn't let go. "Peril!"
Aspenwish ran under the molly's legs and knocked into one of her forelegs. She stumbled a little, looking down in shock. Aspewish used this to her advantage and climbed up onto her back using the molly's back leg. Her claws sank deep into the cat's skin. The molly yelped in pain and let Peril go.
Peril continued attacking the cat she had sunk her claws into, tearing off clumps of fur. The tomcat hissed and tried to yank Peril off his chest, but she was already climbing to the back of his neck. Get the neck, they can't reach you there. Thanks, Sky.
She sank her teeth into his neck. The tomcat yowled in pain. "How are these cats beating us?"
"They're not," Tower told him, still trying to get Aspenwish. "Look over there. Grayson's got one."
Peril looked to her right and saw a big gray cat with white spots holding down a cat with a familiar pelt. Her heart dropped to the bottom of her chest as she realized who it was.
