I hope you guys enjoy this chapter!!!Cuz' I certainly enjoyed writing it. :)
SHIZUKA'S POV
___ "Please!I didn't mean it.I really didn't!Please, just forgive me."I said as tears filled my eyes up. I love him,I can't lose him.He was the only one who protected me.He was the only one who accepted who I was.He was the only one I could truly have fun with. The only one I would risk my life for.
I could hear my heart pound loudly,as though threatening to break into a million pieces. He looked at me with a face full of sadness and rage."Basketball was all I had.But you took it from me.You took away my chance of being recognised by my family.By my father. This competition was my last chance."
I could feel my tears run down my face.I could feel my regret and self-hatred rising.I could feel my life shattering. "I-I'm sorry....I'll do anything.Just forgive me....please..."I managed to mumble between my crying. There was a long, scary moment of silence before he finally spoke again,although...without looking me in the eye."Anything?"He asked.I nodded rapidly.
As his back stared back at me,he started,"You won't ever--" ___
A loud thud could be heard from my room as I rolled out of my bed, onto the floor.OWWWWWW.Do you understand the pain of falling out of your bed in the middle of sleep? It sucks;especially when its because of that annoying alarm clock that sits atop your bedside table.Yes,the one that you want to throw into eternal hell;but can't. Aside form that, what a strange dream to have...well,whatever.
A new Monday means a new day meeting with one eccentric(Chie),a useless rat(you know who),a class of idiots and a whole new rush.No,literally.The cultural festival will be on Wednesday,so the whole school will be in a big rush.Sighhhhhhhhhhh.
I walked into a room full of chattering, mess and idiots. The class was making the finishing touches on all the props.I picked up a script that was lying on a table and skimmed through it.The actors and actresses had to memorize this script by Wednesday...meh,it isn't terribly hard.I saw Izumi sitting in a corner, not doing anything.I pulled a chair over and sat beside him, because:apart from his little corner, every other part of the classroom is like war.
He looked at me and said,"Welcome to the safe corner."I nodded and replied,"Thank you."We sat there and stared at the mess in front of us,time to time stating comments about how stupid our class was. Then,I took out a book of XXXXXX and started reading, which means I ignored everything Izumi said afterwards. He got pissed off after a while and asked in a mocking way,"What's so good about manga anyway?" This time I replied because I didn't like the tone of his voice,"What's so good about your face anyway?"He made a face before saying, irritated,"That was unnecessary."I snorted and said,"Your face is unnecessary."
Thus we broke into a fight of insults. And somehow or another,we started debating whether Ramen or Japanese curry was better but we were interrupted half-way through."You guys get along well...are you guys like...dating?"A girl walked to us and asked. We looked at each other and then looked back at her.We both broke into laughter and then stopped, suddenly.I said in a monotone voice,"Together? The two of us?Impossible.I'd rather date a baboon than him."And Izumi followed after me,"And I'd rather date a cow than her."
The girl gave an awkward laugh and looked away like we were both idiots, but she looked back and said cheerfully,"Oh yeah!I came for another reason. The Newspaper Club wants an interview with Izumi-sama for the cultural festival,so I was sent here to ask you." Izumi immediately changed back to being a rat and said, all smug and sh*t,"Of course! Why would I decline an interview that a cute girl came specially to ask me for?"And so he left for his 'interview'.-_-.
IZUMI'S POV
As I reached the interview area,I saw other guys that was on the Idol List. They got me to sit on a chair before a different girl sat in-front of me.She greeted me and thanked me for coming for this interview before starting to ask questions. Most of them were things like what did I enjoy eating or what shows I liked to watch. But then came a question I didn't answer truthfully. "How did your interest for basketball start?" On a whim I answered,"From my family of course.I mean my whole family, except my mother, plays basketball."She took it down, smiled and thanked me once again for the interview.I guess it ended.
I walked back to class and started to think. Was it really because of my family? When I reached the class,Shizuka wasn't there....I guess she poofed off somewhere to read manga.I sat back at my 'Safe Corner' and began to try to remember how I started playing basketball...
Well true,my family had influenced my decision to play basketball seriously, but there was something, something that actually made me want to play basketball.I mean being exposed to basketball your whole life,do you think it's something that you'll immediately take interest in? It's just like being exposed to curry your whole life, would you think of it as a blessing to eat?No right?
So what exactly was the spark that lit up my fire to play basketball? As I continued to ponder on,the images of an old memory popped up.I remember now,I remember how it all started.A competition.A big competition. My father was given V.I.P seat tickets. He told me and my brother to come along since it was a special, special match. The match in 2008.It was a match I watched when I was a 9-year-old.
It was the finals that the prodigy played in.
