part 8 —- audacity

Gojo, who usually stays at the school as it's more convenient for him, still owns a penthouse that he sometimes, although rarely, decides to stay at instead. Considering it's barley used, YN is expecting it to be covered in dust, but the place is spotless.

Despite being an apartment, it holds two floors and a private elevator. YN feels completely out of place, standing stiffly beside him as they ascend up to the main floor. She doesn't know why she agreed to this, but Gojo is in too much of a good mood for her to want to bring it down. He reminds her of the way he was back in a day, as a sunglasses-wearing teenager creating havoc with Suguru wherever he was.

Something stirs inside of her and she quickly focuses on her surroundings instead.

"There's a pool downstairs, but it's never been used. Maybe you can be the first." he says with a grin as he steps out of the elevator.

She imagines herself in her swimsuit in front of Gojo and her stomach twist in a knot. No way.

"I think I'll pass, but maybe next time." she lies. No fucking way.

Gojo places two bags on the marble countertop, both filled with ingredients for the banana pancakes that he so badly wanted her to make. She isn't sure if she remembers the recipe anymore but she decides that now would be a good time to relearn it anyway.

He pulls out a zucchini and a carrot, appearing confused. "What're these for?"

"They're for the pancakes," she says calmly, taking them from his hands and proceeding to wash them at the large, fancy-looking sink. "You can't taste them with the banana, and the carrot adds sweetness, too."

When she turns back around after washing them, her eyes land on Gojo, who's mouth is wide open in shock.

"What? You never eat vegetables and so I was doing you a favour by making them easier to eat. Do you know how important they are? At your grown age, you should be trying to incorporate them more into your diet."

She can't tell if he wants to be sick or he is impressed. Either way, she has never seen him look this way.

"...do you want me to skip out on them?"

"No, actually, you're right. They're pretty good in the pancakes and I want them to taste exactly the same as they did back in the day, so don't change anything."

She nods in understanding and he pulls out a cutting board and a large knife for her.

"What else can you make that tastes good?" he questions as he watches her.
