part 16 —- let's make a deal

YN didn't listen when she was told to stay in bed. She did for the first two days, allowing Gojo to take care of her by bringing her food and helping her to the bathroom to shower. Most of the time she slept, and by the third day she felt well enough to leave the apartment.

"You know, Shoko-san would kill me if she knew you were out of bed already." Gojo says as the two continue to slowly stroll through the city.

"I feel fine. I needed this." she says, despite her lungs feeling like she has run out of air already. She can only walk short distances at the moment but being out in the fresh air was already doing wonders for her recovery.

"Let's have a break." he says, grabbing ahold of her elbow and leading her to the nearby bench. They sit down and YN sighs to herself, overcome with exhaustion.

She is beginning to think that maybe it was a terrible idea to have left in the apartment in the first place. The original plan had been to visit the rooftop only, but seeing the bustling city in the distance made her crave venturing out even more.

As people walk by them, she notices every woman who walks by spare a look towards Gojo, some longer than others. She can practically see the heart-eyes in their pupils and something stirs inside of her. Am I... jealous?

Gojo pays them no attention, despite having always loved female attention growing up. His cockiness used to irk YN to her core, especially when he knew this and would go out of his way to annoy her even more. How times have changed.

He places his arm behind her and leans back comfortably.

Across the street, she spots a billboard advertising apartments in the area for sale for affordable prices.

Gojo catches her staring at it for too long and smiles to himself. He jumps to his feet and puts his hand out for her to grab, and she gives him a questioning look.

"Come on," he says, gesturing with his fingers for her to take his hand, "let's get you back to mine and make sure you rest up for tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?" She tries to remember if there was any important event coming up but nothing comes to mind.

"We're going apartment-hunting." he says, flashing her an even bigger grin.

"Oh."

At this point, nothing Gojo does surprises YN. Whenever there is something that she wants or needs, he's onto it and even more. She is determined to be more independent again like she had been before everything that happened but this time, with Gojo by her side all throughout her way.

The first two apartments had been an instant no from both Gojo and YN, and even though they had only looked at two so far, YN already feels like giving up. Her mood and energy feels low, and she blames it on still not feeling completely better from her illness. She also blames herself for that, as Shoko's advice to stay in bed quickly went out the window.

The next apartment the pair look at is located directly in the middle of the busiest street of the city. It is a pain to reach the building, and even more painful to reach the apartment door itself.
